Description Capanna Adula CAS, 2012 m/sm

The goat looks like it's concerned about the clouds coming up, swallowing all the trees and anything else...

Edit: adjusted levels, added frame

It looks more like CG work than a photo. o.o But it's beautiful, in any case.

No, not sad over my artwork, though it consequently affected it.
I've had a bad stupid useless argument with a dear friend of mine, who's not talking to me anymore.

arguments are idiotic half the time, and if they refuse to talk with you, then they were never a friend to begin with. Just keep yer head up!

deedee20382 In reply to kkart [2007-04-25 06:37:31 +0000 UTC]

That's just the way he always acts. And it's even better, because if he were to speak his mind his words would kill me. But as I know him, we'll be friend again in a couple of days. He always over reacts but then eventually forgives everything.

good point of view
the goat peeking from the edge of the frame, with the mountains and the clouds at the background gives some divine feeling to the scene

It always surprises me to get some "recognition" for this picture, since to me at first sight it seemed "just a goat and some fog". I like to see how many hidden meanings there are in this picture for every different person.
Thank you!

I dig it. It's so hard not to fall into the "omg, theres an animal, put it in the middle of the frame and shoot" category when photographing wildlife. I respect when someone can make great photos out of seemingly nothing

These are the kind of words that make me thing it's still worth to publish things on this website.
About this shot, when I look at it I sometimes think that I should have at least tried not to cut half of the goat's arse... I intentionally didn't put the goat in the middle of the frame 'cause I had an idea in mind - I wanted to show the goat looking at the clouds, and wanted it to look worried by them.

Lovely, lovely pic - I'd have to say in this case, to judge from the bell, the ear-tag and the green marking on the horns, that this particular goat isn't wild! You've caught him beautifully, though

By the way, I think I've never seen a really "wild" goat... However, I've seen one who wanted to eat my chocolate bar...

I have seen wild goats in the Alps - if that's what chamois are - but not close enough to photograph properly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

deedee20382 In reply to Wodewose [2006-03-30 11:34:25 +0000 UTC]

A chamois is different from a goat. They're two different species.
These are chamois: [link] they're quite shy actually...
And these are goats: [link] they'd do anything for chocolate
By the way, how do you call these in English? [link] I got very close to some of them, even got a few pictures (not yet published due to poor quality of the photos...)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wodewose In reply to deedee20382 [2006-03-30 14:00:19 +0000 UTC]

I'm familiar with chamois, but there are many kinds of goat, and I wondered if they were one of them. My dictionary calls them "goat-like" The sambecco is ibex in English.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

deedee20382 In reply to Wodewose [2006-03-30 14:20:14 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see... Then maybe chamois might be of the same family as goats. You know, like cats and lions are felines.

I know an area here in Canton Ticino (Switzerland) where ibexes are a protected species, and therefore they became quite friendly. They allow you to get rather close to them, about 2 or 3 meters of distance.
Thank you for the translation, I didn't have a dictionary at hand!
