I've really enjoyed making this pic, through it I discovered some new tools in Photoshop that fit perfectly for what I used them to. I also liked what became of the blood, the eyes' and the sword's glow, really neat in my opinion.

"You should not go outside late at night if you don't have any other good choice, for you will inevitably lose your soul if you'd be so unfortunate to cross his path. If you see a purple glow, the light of red eyes and a twisted, spiteful reflection of the holy triforce, and somebody who's skin is as white as a bloodless corpse... run for your life! It's not the great hero of our legends who banished the mythical dark lord into the sacred realm, it is his dark mirror - evil incarnate, doom in shadow, and a fate far worse than the most terrible death thinkable to a human mind. If his sword cuts you, it'll reap your soul from your body, and feed it to its wicked master, further sustaining him in an unholy, immortal life of the night. We dare not name him anything else than Dark Link, for if he had a name more of its own, our fears would drive us to the point of madness, and that would make us even easier prey for the master of misery who lurks in the dark."

I made up this story with some inspiration from the Dark Eldar/Elves in Warhammer, who are also dark reflections of the Eldar/High Elves. The idea of "consuming" your soul came from Slaanesh's curse on the Dark Eldar; when they die she "consume" their souls, but they have found out that the way of at least slowing the process (aka increase their lifespans and not die) is to torture other beings. And so the Dark Eldar are only attacking other inhabitants of the galaxy to take prisoners back home whom they can torture even further. See link for a more detailed background on that one [link]
