Hotham Valley Tourist Railway, Pinjarra, WA.This Sunday marks the final live steam-hauled Steam Ranger service operated by Hotham Valley Tourist Railway until next year, and services will be diesel-hauled until fire-season is declared over. I was fortunate enough to be given the chance to witness and be a part of the awesome spectacle that is lighting, steaming and preparing locomotive W 920 [link] for the days service, which begins at 3 am!
This service is run entirely by some of the most inspiring and welcoming volunteers I have ever met, one of which I aspire to become in the near future.
