*appears as a spirit behind Darth Vader* "Master..... Master Skywalker?"
*turns around, sensing a Jedi's presence* "Ahsoka....."
"Hello, Master....." *warm smile appears on her face* "I'm sorry that you had to kill me."
"It is not something I wished to do, Ahsoka. I MUST kill the Jedi."
"I know.... and I forgive you.... but you had to. Not for the Sith, but for the sake of balance. What if I were to tell you that you are the Chosen One of the Force?"
"You know as well as I do that is the Jedi's myth. And as for what you imply, I am NOT the Chosen One."
"Do you truly believe that you aren't?"
*suit breathing as he pauses for an answer* "........No. I don't" *he begins to turn around to leave*
*gets in front of Vader and puts her hands on her master's shoulders* "Well.... I will tell you what I believe. I believe you are bringing balance to the Force."
"How do you figure that, Ahsoka?" *suit breathing as he listens*
"What if I told you that the Jedi were wrong about how the Prophecy would play out?"
"..... It was not something I hadn't considered."
"Look inside yourself, Anakin. You are more than what you have become. Do you truly think that you killed the Jedi out of pure hatred? Did you feel any hate towards me when you struck me down................. because I felt none from you."
"...................... No. I felt malice, but also something.... telling me to do it."
"Of course not. I believe you did it because it wasn't your will. Nor Palpatine's. It was the Force that called you to do such things. But not without reason."
"I truly wish I could believe that Ahsoka....I truly do." *turns away, looking out at the storm and folding his arms across his chest* "Even if what you say is true.... I am not Anakin Skywalker anymore. It is too late for me."
*looks at her master and walks over to him, standing beside him* "Do not be so sure.... Master. Things won't always be this way. You won't be on the Dark Side forever. There is still good in you, whether you believe it or not. And when your part is done here... I'll be here waiting to see you again." *holds her master's mechanical hand in her own hand and smiles at him*
*turns when he feels Ahsoka holding his hand, but he sees no-one* *he then looks in his hand and sees Ahsoka's Padawan braid in his hand*

Well this is my own opinion on how Anakin/Vader brought balance to the Force. Keep in mind that NONE of the Jedi knew what "balance" meant in the Chosen One Prophecy. Not even Yoda or Windu knew what this meant. The whole concept itself was subject to interpretation.
I feel that Anakin/Vader was meant to destroy both the Jedi Order and the Sith Order. As you can see, both Orders were not better than the other. The Jedi followed and enforced their code to the point of where it was downright senseless to even be a Jedi. They believed in shoving emotions aside and not forming attachments to anyone. Even Revan couldn't stay with the Jedi Order after he had pleaded his case about attachments making Jedi stronger and also well-grounded. That and they believe that the Dark Side is an imbalance, which I believe is wrong. If they've been fighting against the Dark Side for more than 4000 years, there's no way it can ever truly be defeated. The same can be said for the Light Side. Plus, their Order has failed so many of their own kind, including Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker. If anything, the Sith Order seems more favorable by comparison.
The Sith Order was no better, as I said before. There was always the insatiable lust for power that they all had. That and they were often always fighting amongst each other. They were also TAUGHT to hate Jedi. I'm sure that there were some Sith who never truly hated the Jedi at all.
If anything Anakin was the Force's "regime change" plan. Both Orders needed to die in order to become better than what they were during the Old Republic. He brougth balance to the Force by effectively strengthening and destroying both sides of the Force by destroying their respective followers, leaving the Force room to start anew. That and given the fact that Anakin was the Chosen One of the Force, it proves that the Force had a grand scheme in place with him at the center.
End rant.

Yeah, what does "bring balance to the force" even mean? It could mean killing both the Jedi and the Sith. It could mean killing the Sith. Could mean something completely different. It may have meant not getting rid of Sith entirely but to just get rid of Sidious because he was a psychopath who was at the root of the corruption. If Anakin was fufiing his destiny of being the Chosen One and didn't have much control over his life than he had the worst Chosen One destiny ever. I still don't understand why he had to kill those children though; they could've been trained under a new Order.
I have to agree the Jedi Code had it's flaws. One thing that always bothered me was that they were expected not to have emotions/suppress their emotions. That's not healthy; part of being human is experiencing fear and anger as well as other emotions and if these emotions aren't released and dealt with than it can lead to all kind of emotional/mental and physical problems. Yoda was right, these emotions do lead to suffering but part of being human is suffering and that's okay. Sure, it's important to learn how to control your emotions and express them in a healthy way but how are you supposed to do that if you're forced to suppress those emotions? I think one of the main reasons Luke didn't end up screwed up like his father was because he wasn't forced to suppress his emotions and wasn't ashamed to admit and express them. Since he was aware of his emotions and was able to release them he learned to control them and they didn't slowly destroy him like they had Anakin. Also, attachments (and I don't just mean romantic attachments and relationships but family and friends as well) are part of being human and without them life becomes basically meaningless because people need to share their lives and hearts with others. It's normal and healthy to grieve when someone dies; people who don't experience a healthy grieving process for whatever reason can end up with all sorts of problems (this may have been part of Obi-Wan's problem because he never got to properly grieve over Qui-Gon's death.)
I think it's also true that the Jedi failed Anakin especially, he needed and asked for help but he never got it. I honestly think that Anakin suffered from sort of mental illness/disorder and it's even suspected that he had Borderline Personality Disorder because he had many of the symptoms, including serious abandonment issues and acting in very dysfunctional and unhealthy ways to avoid being abandoned (like joining the Dark Side to try and keep his wife from dying.) Despite what the Jedi thought, he couldn't just "get over" his issues, like his fears of being abandoned. He needed serious psychological help but he never received any so he continued to suffer. Padme was the only person who truly validated Anakin's feelings and I think she knew he had serious problems and was suffering but she couldn't help him and it was tearing her apart inside.

Yea. If you think about it, Anakin was never truly free. He had been a slave all his life. He was a slave to the Jedi Order and even greater slave to the Sith Order. But it took his son to show him that he was truly free, showing him that love was the only way he could be truly free. Also, the first thing he did as a free Jedi was literally overthrow Sidious.
I totally agree. I believe that is the danger of being a Jedi or Sith (at least, in the times of the Old Republic). You are taught to forsake that part of you that makes you a feeling being just for the sake of some religious branch in the Force. The characters from KOTOR even say this just before you do battle with a fallen Atris. The Jedi had always forsaken that part of them that makes them feeling beings, and they even teach this to their followers. That and they are so broken upon the will of the Republic, yet they seem to distance themselves from the people that they swore to protect. Both the Mandalorian Wars and the second Clone Wars TV series prove this (in the case of the Clone Wars series, the battle for Onderon when the rebels were getting pounded by Separatists and Obi-Wan told Ahsoka not to fight).
That and there's also the fact that despite the many times they came close to extinction, the Old Jedi Order never did anything to change their ways. From the Mandalorian Wars all the way to the Clone Wars, the Jedi Order was always so stagnant... never changing. What they didn't see was that they needed to change if they were to prosper. Just look at the Sith. They had always adhered to the laws of nature, that conflict is what helps a creature/person evolve and adapt. Although they may have taken this to an extreme, I can definitely see why the Sith are so much more powerful than the Jedi ever were (at least until Luke's New Jedi Order). In comparison to the Jedi, the Sith look alot more preferable than the Old Jedi Order.
Also, there was the fact that the Jedi Order had their chances to change, but never took it. Revolutionary Jedi like Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, and Qui-Gon Jinn were often under-appreciated or they were disillusioned with the Jedi Order and how it operated. They were all different Jedi that could have helped change the Jedi Order for the better, but the Order was so set in its traditions and old ways. All it took for the Jedi to FINALLY realize this was their near-destruction at the hands of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader...

I know, dude. I'm about as fed up with people complaining about the "NO!" scene from Revenge of the Sith as much as you do. And even though I felt that Hayden Christensen was badly miscast as Anakin, I did feel for the guy, even if his actor was not right for the part. Besides, when I think of tragic villains, I tend to think of either Darth Vader or Mr. Freeze. And I liked the comment you wrote way above me with that supposed conversation Vader and Ahsoka had. Vader's realizing his true destiny by destroying the Jedi, eventually to destroy the Sith to achieve true balance. Balancing the Force meant destroying both Light and Dark. Nothing against you, you understand.

Ik.
Although, I am inclined to disagree with you about Hayden, though. I think he played Anakin Skywalker the best he could. If anything, I think the real problem was with the character development. I felt that Lucas probably didn't put enough work into the character to make him likeable. However, I feel that if he put at least half of the effort he did for Darth Vader into Anakin Skywalker, more people would like him.
