hey Michael! You're sketches are always great and it's easy to tell you love to draw! I'm currently trying to improve my skills, and was wondering what size moleskin do you use? and also what weight of paper? Thanks alot, Liam.

Thanks man! I think the moleskin I use is 5.5" x 8" but I'll double check. The paper is really light with a slight tinge to it. I must warn you though colors will bleed through, so a thicker paper might be better. I'll post up some moleskins I use this weekend in my journal for you guy.
Thanks man!

Thanks! Although is that not quite small? Is your moleskin what you use to do all your sketches on, when you're out and about or at home? And yeah that'll be cool thanks a lot Michael.

I do my sketches on that size mainly but it opens up to an 11 x 8, so for me, it works well. I agree a wider sketchbook is better for more drawings but in terms of lugging it around, I prefer to have a sketchbook that can fit in my pocket. I always want to make sure that when there is something awesome that needs to be drawn, my sketchbook is easily accessible. Kinda like a quick draw. Also it being able to fit in my pocket allows me to bring it everywhere...and I mean everywhere lol!

hey thanks for taking the time to help! I'm sure you get A LOT of messages off people, I've just bought myself a sketchbook moleskine, I think 13cm x 21cm, hopefully now I can start sketching wherever I go! And polish up my gesture drawings etc!
thanks Liam

i don't care for them too much myself. mostly because i like really white paper. moleskins usually have a manila folder color.
but i'm weird

I like the one I'm using right now because it's light and fits in my back pocket. Good for travelling and if you don't want to lug a backpack around. I agree man, they are expensive. I guess your paying for the name. The Nike of sketchbooks!
I'll post up some of my past sketchbook choices in my journal this weekend and hopefully that'll help.
Thanks!

Is the paper thick? Can I used paint on it or anything like that?
What did you use to color your drawing?
Sorry for many questions
^^'

lol no need to apologize. With the one I'm using at the moment, the paper is extremely thin and paint will seep through from the back but there's a bunch of different moleskins to choose from. Like I said, I'll post a journal about it sometime tommorow. I know how frustrating it gets when choosing the sketchbook you like.

I just dont wanna waste my money on a really expensive notebook if i'll just waste it with my half-finished doodles and stuff like that.

eh, i dont. my mom, on the other hand, does. [she has the money, so yeah :/]
doodles are more.. not controlled, i think. which is a good thing.
and yeah if i could convince my mom to buy one, then that would be awesome. but.. im pretty sure that she would get mad at me for asking.
might as well save up for one the D:
