Description
This is the second of two mixed media paintings I did for my dad. He's a big fan of Doctor Who and I remember watching the old ones with him when I was a kid, so I painted the Tardis traveling through the time vortex. This painting's background was done using blended watercolor sprinkled with salt to create the starry look, over which I painted the Tardis and lightning bolts in acrylics to make it stand out against the colorful background. The explosions from the impact of the lightning hitting the Tardis were created by blowing paint through a stirring straw. The salt gives the painting a sparkle that can't be captured in pictures, it's really mezmerizing when you look at it in person!
