Clockwise from top: Pilgrim, Canada and Chinese geese.Geese have always slightly freaked me out since my brother was assaulted by one when we were kids.
But, now, I really like them. The different breeds just look so bizarre. (Cases in point, the Chinese and Toulouse.) Plus, they make excellent watchdogs for the farmyard. Legend has it a goose even saved Rome by raising the alarm of invaders. Go goose!

Love it! I have this memory of geese from when I was about 4 or so, when my grandpa and I were feeding bread to them. There was one named "Mr. G" and I must have gotten too close because he bit my hand. x)
