i just paint an area with burnt sienna and while that was wet i dropped into it a drop of water it made the color stack at the boundaries and that made the veins... its a trick i came across with on utube i think a while ago. The rest is the magic of watercolor it has a way of shaping itself. Thanks you so much for the compliment

its not a silly question... i often have these sort of questions as well. i made the 'blackish' color with Vandyke Brown and Prussian blue
