A little while ago I had the sudden urge to do an oil painting on canvas. I didn't want to just jump into the painting without a prototype, though (since oils and canvases can be so bloody EXPENSIVE!!) so I did this in watercolours as a test run. Now I'm afraid I won't be able to replicate it, lol!*grins* I reeeeeeeeeeeeally like it... I made the colouring all sketchy-like on purpose, and I like the effect in this particular piece. I think this is my favourite Inuyasha fanart, actually..... this and my Tribute to Kagura one...
But ANYHOOZERS! The scanner SEVERELY messed it up in some parts.... like the moon, for instance.
Doesn't look like that on paper, I assure thee....At any rate, this pic was REALLY fun to do. I love using purple shadows, so I had a blast with this one!! The only thing I wish I did differently would be to make his eyes stand out more.... but I can do that in the oil redition. ^_^

The colors are beautiful, and I love how his hair sort of flows.... *wistful sigh*
The ONLY thing I'd want to point out is that his little inner-kimono thingy is folding the wrong way... It's supposed to fold in the same direction as the outer red one, right? (lol... am I even making sense?) And I'm only pointing that out because you're going to make an even BETTER oil painting, WHICH I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE! *twitchspazzdrooldie*

:damnyou: Wif all this watercoloring! YER SO GOOD!! I luf the way yu use water colors, it looks gorgeous. I luff how the coloring is all soft and how it's all full of shadows.
Other than that, I think this is gorgeous.
