can you name the three?

DAZUMA In reply to Steechy [2020-01-26 18:00:10 +0000 UTC]

Yes... three "C" letters from portuguese ARCANA: criar, controlar e conhecer (create, control and know, in english). All magic come from the combination of one of this verbs with one or more mystics or natural elements.

I really like your concept and design. The fact that opposing elements are placed opposite makes good sense. Like wind and earth, life and death etc. but i dont quite get how mind is the opposite element of time, would't that be space ? can you elaborate a little on this please ?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DAZUMA In reply to Alex-Of-The-World [2014-10-22 17:37:28 +0000 UTC]

I think soul like an structure free of time, space and other measure forms from the mathematic concept. Mind is the house of the soul. Time is one choosed nomenclature form of all the things that is LOGICAL and fit on RULES and LAWS, but, once in the power of a magician, can be altered and manipuled by his/her will. It's like Apolo e DionΓsio, but is so common time magician act like the bohemian dionisians, and the mind magicians be methodic and logical cientists (like Apolo teaches). That two schools that you have choosed to comment are the more peculiar ones. Have i response your comment correctly?

Hello... Flora is the inner magic of plants, vegetables an autotrophic beings. Fauna is the element that works on/with animals and beasts. Little like botany and zoology. In your logic, maybe fauna e flora must also be the same thing... biological thinks. But i think that 12 is the number of gods/entities/archetypes that rules on this world, so, must be 12 elements of magic.

excuse me? What is flora and fauna? Β  Β And if I could state my own opinion too, Light, dark, mind, and time are all the same thing. It is all Consciousness but you can come to your own conclusions among your own spiritual path. My other question stands Β

Great design, very intricate. You've obviously given it great thought and design consideration.

My one question, though, is could you explain the middle section a bit more? I see the hand with what looks like a red ring, the three gold/silver/white things circling it, and the sun and moon symbols, and the many lines. Could you explain those in detail? Thnx.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DAZUMA In reply to ChaosMiles07 [2013-10-25 17:24:30 +0000 UTC]

Ok, i will! In my concept of magic, the human being lost the ability of mana manipulation. "Lost" because the primal/original human being was so different than it is today.

It means that we cannot alter reality as we wish. So, the old arcanists have created a crystal to deploy on the ring finger, that gives the magician the power of mana manipulation. Once deployed, the new magician could learn how magic works, from this master (a new magician is judiciously selected, and his/her training requires a long time of studies).

The three "comets" represents the three levels of combination of elements. To make a fire bolt, just the fire element is necessary. To make a fire grenade, is necessary fire and earth (the magician uses a stone to create a small fire bomb, darting to explode). To create the terrible fire ball, is necessary fire, earth and dark.

The sun and the moon is the representation of the duality of this world, that make those effects also on the magic.

Miss i something? Thanks for your comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could you give me pointers on how to incorporate a system of free-range alchemy into a game of my own? Or is yours a video game?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DAZUMA In reply to MrGadzooks [2012-01-25 10:50:46 +0000 UTC]

so, i need to tell you my experience of introduce alchemists on my game system.
They become more like the elements manipulators from Avatar: the legend of Aang than the alchemists from Full metal alchemist (both tv animes and manga).
In my game, the major diference between alchemists and another magic users is the use of their own blood instead a mana source. In my game, wizards and sorcerers use mana (with a little diference), and alchemists use their Life Points to do magic. Of course that the alchemists have so much more life points than other spellcasters. Also, they need to "contact/touch" with the element that they will use to do a spell (do not "appears from nothing" like others).
The great word that you need to think about is TRANSMUTATION, or, transformation. In alchemy, the things, also the spells, need to "come" from anywhere, and something must be "the cost" to this process.
So, i think is all i can help you.

maybe this can occur because we use symbols in various shapes and vertices of stars (pentagrams, heptagram). but I did it for a game. I think you make based on alchemy.
and some of the symbols i use is made by me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RCDeschene In reply to DAZUMA [2012-01-05 12:45:14 +0000 UTC]

Correct. There no doubt that what I did was pure alchemically inspired. And yes, unlike yours, mine are completely incorporated are actual symbols in Hermeticism. Mine too has instances of sacred geometrical matrixes in some instances, and yes, all of which are for a game plan of my own as well. I'm just fascinated by the sheer fact that both of us share the idea of an elemental dodecad. Where mine is pure of out correlation for the Twelve Zodiac, I was wondering if there were any similar notions with yours.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DAZUMA In reply to RCDeschene [2012-01-06 10:20:19 +0000 UTC]

Zodiac is a good inspiration. The "12" number is, by my idea, a divine number (and I also consider myself polytheistic). Many artists see, unconsciously, that correlation.
Cheers for us!!!!!!!

I've been trying to create a game of alchemy, but I've only managed to make it complicated. Well really I wanted to make an RPG with a simplistic Alchemist class. I have spent countless hours on that class alone. Would either of you care to divulge with me some details of your games? Maybe shoot me a PM. That would mean alot to me.

RCDeschene In reply to MrGadzooks [2012-01-30 00:27:35 +0000 UTC]

Hey! Sorry this took me forever! Of course I'll help you. I myself have been composing an Alchemist class myself for a D&D game that I'm part of.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MrGadzooks In reply to RCDeschene [2012-01-30 06:44:13 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, that would be so helpful! I don't like the existing classes for Alchemist in those campaigns, and I'm trying to make a simplified variant whose powers more closely resemble those of Fullmetal Alchemist. I also want to turn the environment into a "sandbox" interractive environment in which everything is up for transmutation if it's within reach. So far, I just have a fairly complicated database.
