Yes I wish I could remove the skull. I now know it does not belong here.Done during my Wicca period in high school. I still think this piece turned out well. Yes I now realize this is not all what Wicca is about and most of it is very dark and what is seen as evil. I was 15 when I drew this and at a very dark period in my life. I think the main thing that make people say this is dark and a wrong misconception of Wicca is the skull and maybe the star but definitely the skull. I believe and always have that Wicca is pure and good. There are "white witches" and "dark witches." To me Wicca is about people living with nature and about only doing good for one another. It has been awhile since I have thought about any of this so I still maybe not be getting my point across. I want to make it clear that I have never believed that Wicca was evil but I believe some how I took it to a dark place that is why things happened the way they did.

skulls in prechristian times were often kept to keep a link with the person the skull belonged to (usually elders of great knowledge, mightiest hunters...) and ritually thru them they could ask them for help and advice.
as wicca originates from thatΒ times IMHO the skull is not problematic if it is put there as a symbol of love and respect for our elders
even if it is put there as a sign of death there is nothing wrong as death is only a path we all go thru in our voyage thru times
the only problematic aspect would be if it would be placed there to call upon dark powers but that no more Wicca

The star, you had fine. Along with the skull, I think the bio hazard symbol doesn't fit, unless you were just drawing it just to draw it.

Its not a bio hazard symbol. I got it from a Wicca book it was so long ago I don't remember which book.

It appears to be a stylised Triquetra - one of the many three-foot symbols popularised by the Celtic strain of European Occult.

I understand your feelings; Wicca also helped me get through a dark and confusing period of my life, but now my belief only enhances what is good. Thank you for expressing these emotions in your art.

yeah Now that I am older and know more I wish I could get rid of the skull but this was done in 1998 to 1999 which was not a good time for me.

This was just a very dark time for me that I do not want to go back to.

the drawing is technically good....but the ideas about Wiccan really showed how young you were in this time of your life. The whole death thing...with the skull is why they burned people for witchcraft and has nothing to do with true wicca. Ditto with some of the other symbols in the background. I am sorry you left the religion before you were really old enough to understand the ideals behind the culture. Oh well. So many teens turn to wicca when they are morbid and suicidal, but they really have the wrong ideas about it. Maybe one day you will explore it again. But in the meantime I do hope that your christian religion brings you joy and peace.

Yeah I was at a very suicidal point in my life when I drew this. I felt like the only person who understood me was my boyfriend becuase my parents did not know what was going on with me and when I finally tried to talk to my mom she sent me to a shrink.
