For those of you who dont know I am currently @Cartoon Network as Character Design Supervisor/Lead on a new show w/the well known and highly influential and artistic Andre 3000 from Outkast(Andre Benjamin) We are currently in production over here and I love it!!!!! I left Boondocks after completing season 1 and came over here to try and establish myself in this great studio. Glad I did too b/c things have been going well. They have ordered 12 more scripts already just based on the artwork, so thats a point in the plus column for me. I cannot post the current style of the show as our exec prod is very tight lipped about this. However, here I have posted one of the development pieces I did way back when. In no way does this piece reflect what our show looks like,(therefore feel it is ok to post).... the piece here would exist more in an action show and we are a musical comedy genre.I think most of you can see whose style influenced me hereAnyway, thought ya'll might enjoy this.

Man, that show is boss. Andre 3000 is one of my favorite emcees, and I was so scyked when I heard there was going to be a cartoon with him. One of the best shows I've seen in awhile. I love the different styles you all do for the lil music segments of the show. I especially like the Peanuts one. Yall doing a great job. I can't wait to see more.

they are going to be selling albums of the shows songs and a DVD w/the videos....keep your eyes peeled...and 2nd season is better then the first...

I totally agree w/you and I value your honesty... It was one of the lesser episodes of our first season...It lacked on laughs big time. However, it did setup the story...Plus my designs were way off model yet it was the first show that RoughDraft(overseas studio) worked on. I am honest when I say that it gets better as the season rolls on.....Our head of story was let go for 2nd season so 2nd season is way better and the board artists kick major ass, some real veterans who know how to bring the funny....
Just stay tuned....check it out from time to time...you will be pleased....Alot of the great shows took time to find their niche...this is true here too

I can imagine that, and I am tickled pink just to be talking to you. My ultimate aspiration is to become a prodcuer of film, become an animator (3D and 2D: have to be flexible, and I don't want to see 2D die), and a voice actress. I know this might take a while, and I will have to learn the tools of the trade, but I'm a hard worker. Whatever happens, I'll get to where I need to be...somehow.

Awesome! I can't wait to see the show! I think it's funny when Andre is walking down the street then all of the sudden he just runs up the wall and does a back flip. XD And I've been lookin' into being a cartoonist since 1st grade. I hope I can be one someday.

I just got back from Atlanta for the red carpet premiere w/Andre, it was a hit......it will air nationally on Nov 3rd, definitely check it out!!!

That's really cool. xP I think it would be fun to go into cartooning. At the moment I'm hoping to someday be a storyboard artist. ^^

all I have to say is that story artists are worth the weight in gold......
I dropped art in highschool for girls and sports, picked it up later in college....and just put in the pencil mileage.......didnt go to an art school.....its all about the talent, not the education.. Production is where you learn everything... just get in anyway possible

I just sent a reply , dont know if it went through, anyway... this is nothing what the show looks like..... dont get too excited, this was done when Andre and the network were stagnating on a direction to take..so went off and did this....It blew my prod away, only a few times my work has made women hot and this was one of them(yes, my producer is a woman...) took it as a compliment....think b/c it reminded her of her rockstar husband.....
anyway.... trust me though, people will like the style.....

well the character is Sunni Bridges, a rockstar who gives it all up to teach a bunch of kids about music and life, this piece was done as if he was a musician superhero, so I made up some cool superhero type instrument
This is far from the archetype of the character and the style is totally differnet, so felt it was okay to put out there
