Updated - Hope you guys like it, I improved the proportions and textures (updated for the portfolio)
Hello guys, I'm doing a tournament, called "The Bloody Cartoon Tournament" where my favorite cartoon/anime characters confront each other. The first fighter is Rock Lee, but others will follow.
But for now ... Rock Lee is facing Android #18

Story
Rock Lee has always been a very determined young man, committed to always push himself to the limit, which made him an extremist. The young ninja was determined to enter the Bloody Cartoon Tournament, but his Gai sensei forbade him, saying he was not ready yet, because there will very strong opponents. Seeing the depression of his pupil, Gai tells him of a teacher who could help him, Master Roshi. Rock Lee goes in search of the master turtle, and ultimately finds him in a small island. After months of training, Master Roshi tells him that he'll only complete his training winning the tournament, thus proving in fact to be the greatest ninja of Konoha

But in this particular art, I think you should have done his face with Chinese characteristics like a young Bruce Lee.
And a little bit older.
The way you did his face looks too young for me.
But an overall neat work.

I tried to give him oriental features, seeing some male asian kids references. I tried those characteristics on his skin color, his nose, and eyes for exemple, but the eyes were the biggest challenge, because I had to accomplish two things at the same time, the eyes had to be asian and...big
I know that the caracter is based on Bruce Lee, but I had to make him young, because It was a realistic version of the character, and in the first series, he's a little kid, I wanted to accomplish that. Normally people do older versions when they do realistic versions, but that's not right, because it's not the age the character has in the anime.Β

By the way, the expression and the physique of Lee is good, I see a real version of Rock Lee. Do you know that this character is a tribute to Bruce Lee, could be useful to use the physique of Bruce as reference?

I understand your point about the age but is well know that Bruce Lee have a physique of a younger guy than his age, maybe could find a picture of him, young? - I think you make a great job because the proportions looks very well, is a bit rare to observe the image and not because is wrong, is because it feels so real, is like watch him in a Live Action Movie.

Yes, the point is Hollywood take the stories but to make an "Evolution" like DB!
If they take the stories of the manga, the people wait for something good, very close to the original not a free adaptation. There are an example from Japan with the movie of Roruoni Kenshin.
