Finally saw Covenent last night. As the dutiful fan that I am, of course it got me in the mood to paint up one more Xeno. In this case I wanted to show the link between drone and queen. I promise this will be the last alien pic for a while. And for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, no this is not a design from the movie, I made it up, so nothing is spoiled. Huge props to Carlos Huante for the designs in that flick.Related content

Love this take on it. I muse endlessly on xenomorph biology so it scratches that itch. I loved covenant as well because it explores a bit of the xenomorph biology. It was a pretty film too.

This is such a cool design and an interesting idea you got there with an Alien prince.
I saw Covenant too two weeks ago and I love this movie a lot. I hope we get to
see a Queen in the next Alien movie^^.

Interesting, but praetorians are what you're describing. They're drones that become queens. The textures you use are nice, and I love all the subtle colors, but I'm not sure I understand your decision to give it a non-alien mouth, and to fuse the crest to the back.

Hey there Scott,
valid points, and I have heard of the praetorians, but I'm pretty sure they show up later in the Alien timeline. As I mentioned, I just watched a movie which describes the origins of the species, this was my vision of what could eventually evolve into a queen based on what I saw. The fusing of the crest and the mouth are not as "alien" as the current version because they are primitive examples. Besides, it's just a sketch, not canon. Glad you like it man.
