I see a lot of tooling and sewing as well. Extremely well crafted. Is that a variation on the fleur de leyes I see in there?

It is, The whole "crown?" or top part was carved from a Fleur de leyes-ish Victorian pattern I found. I think the pattern was originally intended to be made into a textile of some sort. The actual design of the hat came from a combination of several different patterns I found here on DA and other leather working websites. As we get ready to get snowed in again here this week I'm thinking about making another one, with a more pronounced corset shape to the top, and a different tooling design. Hopefully I'll get time to do it soon.
