Saladin wasn't a kurd he was probably an arab or a turk(but more likely and arab)
Plus this guy in the drawing looks like a turk

Thanks. I've done a coloured version. [link]
I would consider him a great man, and say that humanity comes before either religion or nation.

Charles Martel stopped Arabs invading France via spain at the battle of Poitiers in around 700. It's unclear to what extent the crusades were a strike-back responding to Islamic encroachments on Christendom. Saladin recaptured Jerusalem in 1187, which had been ruled by the crusaders since 1099. He did not massacre the Christians, but required them to pay a ransom beore being allowed to go free. He took many slaves. He also had all the Templars and Hospitallers executed who were captured at the battle of Hattin.

Notwithstanding the differences in beliefs, the Muslim Saladin was respected by Christian lords, Richard especially. Richard once praised Saladin as a great prince, saying that he was without doubt the greatest and most powerful leader in the Islamic world.[9] Saladin in turn stated that there was not a more honorable Christian lord than Richard. After the treaty, Saladin and Richard sent each other many gifts as tokens of respect, but never met face to face.
In April 1191, a Frankish woman's three month old baby had been stolen from her camp and had been sold on the market. The Franks urged her to approach Saladin herself with her grievance. After Saladin used his own money to buy the child, "he gave it to the mother and she took it; with tears streaming down her face, and hugged it to her breast. The people were watching her and weeping and I (Ibn Shaddad) was standing amongst them. She suckled it for some time and then Saladin ordered a horse to be fetched for her and she went back to camp".
saladin was terrific; the only downside was that he once said that he wanted to pursue the christians to the end of the sea, and rid the world of those who did not believe in islam, but i suppose there are downsides, and it was just only at the beginning of his carreer XD

Nice sketch on the Chivalric Ayyubid Sultan. Among all the muslim commanders, only he was regarded with being a pious chivalric and wise by friend and foe alike. And yes I agree too that Al Din Baybars was a better commander.

Well, he started quite young. He was a seasoned warrior and ruler of Egypt by the time he was 31.
