Description Fifteenth Century French heroine Joan of Arc, known as the Maid of Orleans. After receiving messages from God, the peasant girl Jeanne d' Arc led the armies of the Dauphin Charles to Victory over the English who were then occupying much of France. Later she was captured and tried by the Burgundian Inquisition (allies of the English) for witchcraft and heresy. She was burned at the stake. Subsequently she was made a Saint. She was the only victim of the Inquisition ever to be posthumously declared innocent.

She really does have the look on her face like she's heard God, and that she knows she's doing the right thing. I love it. And the hand rocks.

Great drawing- like the addition of the backgrounds in the distance in the new pictures you are doing. Cross around her neck- nice touch, beautiful shading and detail

Thanks, but... Woops! I've just realised I've left her with a ratherpointy ear! She started off as a pixie, you see, and I only decided to turn her into Joan of Arc later... Oh well, no-one seems to have noticed...

I think no one has noticed because it looks like its naturally pointed due to the angle she is standing at rather than it being a possible mistake...

It miff's me sometimes when people comment on your work saying the women you draw have necks that are a bit too long.. to me they seem perfectly natural.. afterall, people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and none of us fit a perfect mold. Its funny how people think a person drawn to fit the mold of perfection is somehow natural when its quite the opposite!

I agree. Thanks for the comment, and the reassurence regarding the ear!
