Description
From the rising sand storm comes a tall armoured man in a dusty white cloak with a red cross brand...Quick digital colouring of a drawing of a Templar knight which I last touched 11 years ago, and originally did nearer 13 years ago. (Doesn't time fly?) Something for those who come here for medieval badassery rather than soppy mermaids...

Your gallery reminds me very much of the song "Crusader" by the British heavy metal band, Saxon. I saw them in concert in Virginia in October, 2000, and met Biff Byford, the lead singer, one of my all-time metal gods. I spent at least 30 minutes talking to him before the concert, I asked him why the middle verse of Crusader is deleted when they play the song live, (it is included on the Crusader LP), and he said they delete the verse when they play live because Saxon was banned from playing in Turkey because the middle verse is heavily anti-Muslim. Your gallery is fantastic!

I like both Medieval badassery and soppy mermaids. Β This is a good example of the former. Β Beauty and grace distract us from wars and blood.
