Description STEP BY STEP for my b.u.g. concept [link]

I was lucky to hold 3 PSD files of that concept so i was able to gather enough material for logical steps.

the first pic is a quick sketch generated in ALCHEMY
it all started from there
i simply love to fantasize and interpret shapes

Yes, i think the word interpret is the key, i try to be creative when i try to do new forms, but as you say, we are only interpreting nature.

thanks dude!

the first step is the alchemy sketch. the rest was done with photoshop
when using alchemy i tend to use the edgy SPEED SHAPES

does stuff like this even exist? i just know upspeeded painting recordings

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

guzu In reply to dasAdam [2010-09-09 02:55:32 +0000 UTC]

I've seen other deviants do the unspeeded recordings on livestream and UStream. People can watch them while drawing. Afterwards, the video will stay on the server and anyone can watch it and skip to the parts they want. Or you want to do it in a different way? Not all people learn from a fast forwarded video, especially beginners.

dasAdam In reply to guzu [2010-09-09 03:07:02 +0000 UTC]

i did a livestream session once already

i painted for at least 6 hours straight but livestream has issues with long videos and most of the material got corrupted and wouldnt be uploaded on the server
that was my personal experience.
so all in all it might be a great thing to record a speedpainting for an hour or two but refined shadings on a concept piece like that just take too much time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

guzu In reply to dasAdam [2010-09-09 03:15:27 +0000 UTC]

Are you sure? I thought live stream automatically put the videos on the server.
But in any way, I think you could simply take a 10 minutes break every two hours of painting and let the server digest the finished video.

Also, the livestream program can simply save the files on your hard drive. If you cut the videos, you can later just combine them in one video.

Don't let one experience ruin your experience

dasAdam In reply to guzu [2010-09-09 03:26:26 +0000 UTC]

i am sure cause i did it. and yeah it does it automatically....but it just couldnt process the long 4 hour piece. breaks will surely solve that kind of a problem but then again there are the stream crashes as well.

all in all it would end up in much effort

guzu In reply to dasAdam [2010-09-09 05:02:33 +0000 UTC]

Aww, I really think livestream program is of the best if not the best program. Especially that it could record a copy on your HD and another on the server. I am really surprised you had to go through bad experience

Oh well, maybe a new option would arise in the future

you've got a great talent, this is really cool. Do you use lasso tool, or marquee tool for this?

thank you!
the very first sketch is generated in "ALCHEMY" as the description says

its a vector based sketching tool

I actually just downloaded it and I'm absolutely amazed at how awesome it is. I'm going to be working with this for quite a while, hopefully my art will be half as amazing as yours!

dasAdam In reply to devilsvsdevils [2010-07-12 12:38:53 +0000 UTC]

take your time and get familiar with it
when you use alchemy just dont try to be that concrete in your doing. this way more unexpected shapes will occur

I'm super happy to see other artists using alchemy as their abstract bases. Helps teach your eyes to see things in negative shapes. I'm constantly pimping alchemy every chance I get. Great job.

I've got one example done as well if you're interested. [link]

you get the lighting so close to reality for imaginary shapes it's insane
any tips?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dasAdam In reply to mvdig [2009-07-08 14:13:25 +0000 UTC]

oh ^.^ well
practice with greyscale! i did a lot and am still doing it this way
you will learn to get the values right without having any trouble with saturation when working with colors. and well you can still add the colors in the end
