Very nice. I was thinking about doing something like this with my Sting. Great Job youve done here!

Thanks! I have several other LOTR sword photos, it's been a fun series to shoot.

By the way, I have 2 more swords to shoot, but I am having problems coming up with good ideas. If you have some free time, please check this out and let me know what you think:

Yes I discovered your journal and the other photos after I commented on this one. I think the stable sounds like a great idea for Theodens sword. And for Aragorns elven dagger I would go for a small stream and forest floor setting.

Thanks for the ideas! Several people have commented that a forest floor setting would work well for the elven dagger. Now I just need to find the right stable, and someone who will let me shoot there. I live near a lot of farms, but all the barns are either red or too modern looking. Might take some time to find the right one, but from it took me a year to get the Sting photo. Guess I can wait...

Sure no problem. I live in Norway. You'd probably have better luck finding a suitable stable here, taken in consideration that Rohan is partially based on Norway in the middle age.
Well good luck to you anyway. I'll be looking forward to seeing the result.

I've thought of that too - I need some European stables! That would be perfect. Nothing here in Ohio resembles Rohan...sigh. Maybe I will find something...

Thanks! It's a great building that I've always wanted to shoot at. Now the problem is finding equally good backdrops for my other swords...

Cool, what other swords do you have? They had several cool replicas at Chesapeake Knife & Tool, but they went out of business It was always fun to look...

I have Sting, Hadhafang (Arwen's sword), and Strider's elven knife. I also have a replica of Maximus' sword from Gladiator and an FX lightsaber (Anakin's), but I am really only planning on taking photos of the LOTR swords.

I love looking at things like this. I had always thought of getting Boromir's sword and Theoden's sword, but then I got married. My wife and I are trying to be good about saving money and not blowing it on useless, albeit cool, stuff like swords. Instead, we spent money on my camera

That's so cool! Well marriage is about compromise, right? At least you got an awesome and useful toy that you can use to show off your swords!
