As title says, my first photoshop wallpaper. Spent many hours on it, over a few weeks. I just had to do another orb and mesh design

Just to get a highlighted 1 pixel edge in places with the dodge tool.
And the rings on the bottom half I used a fair bit of burn to darken them down.

What Graphic User Interface forums are tutorials would recommend to achieve some of these effects? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! Great peice by the way, the orb in the middle of the composition was done really well.

I love orbs, its about the only thing I can do really well in PhotoShop.
I am part of a forum which focuses mainly on interface design, which includes web pages as well [link] . Called GuiStation. Which is where I pretty much learn to use photoshop.
This piece was truly experimental and a test of my ability, so unfortunately there's no tutorials on any aspect of it.

Even though my opinion is bias, I still think it makes a pretty damn kickass wallpaper. And I would think it would go with alot of themes 
Think maybe I should introduce some different coloured versions.

I had a little play around with the colours yesterday. A nice light blue came up the best. But the red looks better than the purple, green and orange

I normally stick to blue designs. This one originally started out blue, but then I changed it after the gf comaplained I always use blue

Ya that happens. One month I put out about 50 deviations but now I haven't uploading anything in a while but I still appreciate good art and there are some really cool and decent people here so that all brings me back.

great work, I love the wallpaper but as previously said you can still add to that plasma detail and work on that a little more and maybe remove the background pattern

Not sure what else to do to that little plasma piece. It started out blue.

mm I dunno, thinking about it I dont really mind the background pattern, as for the plasma, you could maybe have a look at a nice deep red gradient with a strong white highlight ontop and turn it into a kind of glossy material

AsherZ there's always something I could have done differently. The plasma is actually blue, I just used a screen modifier. I know bit of a shortcut for getting it done properly.
It was either the plasma or a my formula 1 picture
I did actually consider a glossy material at one point, but I suck at trying to make something look glossy most times.
