How Bulbasaur came to Kroel is a very similar story to that of squirtle, but with a very different outcome. While Squirtle's popularity as a pet eventually faded away, Bulbasaur became an incredibly valued pokemon among breeders and collectors who saw a great potential on the pokemon. With the pass of time, Bulbasaur was breed with many species of pokemon native of the region in an attempt to make it even more appealing to the eyes, and soon it became a completely different breed of pokemon from its kanto counterpart. By losing its poison over the course of its breeding, and due to its constant pampering from collectors and pokemon contestants, Venusaur became less aggressive yet more resilient, and with a calm nature and easy-going demeanour, it is not strange for many smaller pokemons to wander under the bell of its fungus looking for shelter, specially fairy pokemons which he welcomes happily and even looks after.???-BULBASAUR

And finally here we have the Kroelian Bulbasaur line!!! I bet no one was expecting this one
I was lookin how could I change bulbasaur and went on and on looking at flowers, then a post on tumblr showed me a lot of cool looking fungi and I made my mind.
This one is based mostly on the Bleeding tooth fungi, but Ivysaur is also based on the Cage fungi, Finally and as its ability says so, Venusaur is based on fairy rings, those fungi circles that are common in europe and are part of many folktales
Mega venusaur just came to me when I saw an upside down portobello mushroom and thought how much it looked like a satellite dish...
I dont think I will be making more of this variants, maybe some day in the future but they will be shorter, right now I will go to make some christmas presents I have to do and will continue making things later, maybe next year, who knows

I just had an idea. What if you made a Kroelian variant of a Pokemon and maybe instead of giving it a mega evolution, give it a regular evolution. This would make sense given that these variants are practically different species, and it would also give Pokemon who everyone wanted regular evolutions for a chance to shine. Just an idea I thought I'd share.

You think you could do more Kroelian designs for the other starters? I like how your designs tend to be more either grimy or mysterious(in this case, mysterious in appearance, in a good way 
If you were to do so, what one do you think you'd make part Normal type? From what I've seen, Normal has some options: animalistic instinctive(rather than the rage battle lust that seems to be dragons, this would represent animal moves, or moves that can be done by any creature, like pound, tackle, etc.), sound(of which most sound move seem normal type), or instinctive psychological(moves like mean look, baby doll eyes, etc. that target the mind on an instinctive level)
And if you need some inspiration, I have some ideas:
Cyndaquil: having its second type be Ghost, so that when its primary type changes upon Mega form like the other Kroelians, it would still have flames, but of a ghostial nature. Perhaps its mega form change could be Flying, so that its ability is something like Heated Winds or Firestorm, turning fire moves into Flying stab.
For Piplup, maybe it could be part Steel type, with it gaining such from consistently diving into a 'haunted lagoon', a location where ships constantly shipwreck for undiscovered reasons. The area filled with fog, but no visible signs of rocks that could cause the wrecks. Perhaps it being some sort of submerged coral reefs or something causing it. But, regardless, gaining the steel type due to constantly exploring the sunken ships, including modern steel ships that sunk in the lagoon. Heck, perhaps Poplio's Kroelian could be a good friend of it, acting like a siren to lure in the ships that Piplup would then explore. Or something.
Perhaps Oshawott's could wield the shells in a new way. Instead of as blades, they could be shields, or perhaps used like shovels perhaps? Dual wielding shovels for both digging and fighting.
Then, for Rowlet's, perhaps growing instead of arrows growing things like knives or kodachis, making it more of a thief or something than an archer.
These are just ideas I thought of this mornin'. In the end, what you design is up to you. But, figured I'd provide ya with the ideas for inspiration. Whether you use them is up to you.^^

I love those bleeding tooth fungi and they are always a great design-choice. I love how it develops from one small mushroom on the Bulbasaur over those creative cage-fungus on the Ivysaur up to that mushroom-circle on Venusaur's back *__*
... The mega-venusaur however frightens me a bit xD
