Pieces of art my dad has drawn....Thought I'd put them up here to show people how good my dad really is. If I could I'd show you some of his older work, but while he moved out years ago he took all of them. Even then alot of them were damaged since he didn't take care of them too well...My dad writes and draws to me while he's in prison....Related content

This is inspiring. I always looked up to my mom because she is a talented artist. My sister and I made it hard for her to pursue a life in art but whenever I needed her to help me I always asked. There is nothing more valuable than someone to inspire you and for you to be proud of. I wrote many papers about how my mom is my hero. Truly, this is beautiful work. I know what it is like for a parents to be distant, my dad also did quite a bit of jail time for his mistakes. All it took was him coloring with me one day to change my perspective of how I viewed him. He went from being a relatively absent figure to someone with a honest and creative dimension. I will never forget that about my dad and despite his mistakes I still love him more than he ever knew.
I am so happy for you that you are inspired by your father.

That is awesome. I wish I had been able to give my dad that kind of contact. But I lived far away and I hardly ever knew he was in jail when he was. Before he died we managed to talk a lot and I really got to know him for the man he truly was. These are the things people take advantage of. I bet your dad looks forward to each and every one of your messages and I am sure he feels a swell of pride in his heart when he thinks of you. He is gifted with a child who understands that he is not his mistakes and in some ways, he may not see it around him every day, he is blessed.
