Another doodle I decided to color, but this time it's Ponyo and Sosuke from Hayao Miyazaki's new film "Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea"(Gake no Ue no Ponyo).I saw it at the theater when it premiered and I loved it, (The classic animation was amazing and the characters were adorable) the man's an animation master for a reason. Although don't watch it expecting the next "Spirited Away" or "Princess Mononoke". It's more along the line of "Kiki's Delivery Service" or "Whisper of the Heart"(cute and endearing characters that have fun adventures).
Anyway, the background is a random beach photo I found online and altered with some fun tools in photoshop.

Sosuke and Ponyo were so cute and I loved that Miyazaki did it in classic 2-D animation. *sigh* If only more studios would go back to 2-D . . .

thats exactly what i'm saying and Miyazaki's writing a new movie as we speak and with disney's princess and the frog maybe we may get classic 2-D animation after all
