I prefer the vertical one, it really helps bring focus to the branch.

Ah, winter is coming isn't it?

I think I like the vertical one as well. Yes, winter is coming... way too early for me.

I think they both have a 'ainting' quality to the bark of the trees. A nice image, very aesthetically pleasing.

prefer the original as the symbolic ties were more instantly apparent, but understand why you revisited this....I guess.

Love it. I personally prefer portrait to landscape so this for me is perfect.

Oh I would love an IR filter... though I use an EOS XTi.. I guess thoes don't go togeather too well... =[

DarknessAndLight In reply to SYSPLUCK [2007-11-10 12:31:00 +0000 UTC]

Yes... unfortunately Canon's SLR's don't work well for IR. You can do it, but you'd have shutter speeds around a full minute.

SYSPLUCK In reply to DarknessAndLight [2007-11-10 20:25:58 +0000 UTC]

Te longest you can have is 30 seconds... lol
Hmmmm...
I'll figure something out.. xD
1.8 F-number and 30 second exposure in direct sun light in RAW format.
xD
Something like that. lmao

DarknessAndLight In reply to SYSPLUCK [2007-11-25 04:04:37 +0000 UTC]

I just found this and remembered our conversation about the xti's IR capabilities... looks like it may be a bit more usable than I thought.

Btw, you can over 30 seconds if you use the bulb setting on your shutter. Set it to bulb, and it will stay open as long as you hold the shutter button down.

Oh yes, that's true, though if you have a tripod as unstable as mine, then doing that withought an encridible steddy hand would most likely cause quite a bit of camera shake.. heh.
I'll see what I can do to get my hands on a nice IR filter.
