Description _______________________________
I actually have a lot to say about this but I don't want to waste anyone's time. At the moment I still have to learn a lot and all of my works seem to take forever until they're finished, I could tell you a whole story about that...

However, if you feel like you have something to say about this then please take a few moments and give me some feedback, let me know what you think about my work.
Thanks!

Ehhhh....I'm sorry but kubrick it's a director and the cube belongs to rubick....

I still love the rubick's cube and fight with it everyday.......

This reminds me of that dam... lovely Kubrick's cube . I like it, the idea is good, it's simple but i like the colours and the "status" idea.

Just one thing, please please PLEASE don't stretch the tipography Γ‡_Γ‡

I almost want to add this to my fav's.
I realy like the layout, the style, and the idea, but I don't like the material settings for the cubes.
I would go with either a softer spec, or some kind of relfection/glass-look.
perhaps even a different lighting setup.

otherwise, its quite amazing.

btw, I'd like to know how you made the non-blender stuff in the sceene.
I'm guessing you used either photoshop or gimp.
a link to a good tutorial would be incredibly helpfull.

also, I didn't read any of the other posts.
way too many.
if I am repeating anything, I apolagise.

I agree with your points made, today I'd make things in a different way. Or maybe I'll do it some day but at the moment I'm not really motivated to change something - either way, thanks for the help

And yeah, this is actually more PS than Blender. The 3D here is quite simple while the 2D is more complex. But...I can't really provide you a link to a tutorial. It's just some work with Gradients / Lines (that means the pen tool, or a rect. / circular marquee tool) / the Bucketfill tool. I can't even remember seeing good tutorials on 2D either. It's (in my opinion at least) much better to look at the stuff the real artists here at dA do and to try and incorporate some of their layouts and concepts. Not just copying them but studying them really helps the most. And of course, it needs experimentation...A LOT of experimentation for me.

fresh work, very inspiring when you say you have much to say about how each work is made... that's a good sign of having explored a lot of creative/technical options i think!

however... with the almost 50/50 mix (duotone) of colours, you could use some bold 3rd colour to bring attention to some specific/main piece, making a nicely dramatic piece. always an option, esp when you have a nice concept to work with (as you do with the rubik cubes!)

this is a great concept, i really like this one alot, again your stle of wireframes combined with full renders is excellent, i also see youve improved your 3d work as well, which is very nice. This piece shows real imagination and originality in my book, good work

Very nice man, 3D does take a while when ur beginning to learn. You'll get used to the program n u'll be churning out 3D stuff like crazy.

OH MAN! This is Brilliant! I'm loving it dude, the use of the wireframes and the progression of the building of the cubes is awesome! The 2D fits in with this very nicely as well. Although the colour scheme works, that is my only qualm with it - I would've perhaps used a bit darker shade of green and perhaps with more blue, but that is personal preference. I don't know why more people haven't seen this, and why there aren't more views of this thing. Awesome.

think it's too crowded, but i love the choice of colour and the cubes. I'm thinking the green and black, but perhaps on a much whiter background would look good. minimalistic style would be very fitting

hmmm.... u know i actually quite like it

good concept and damn good presentation

but if i had to be picky i'd have to say the "status reports" could be tossed, but i wouldn't know what to replace them with so i could be wrong.

great use of green and black

strong piece here

mach weiter so!

That's pretty cool I like it, but it seems kind of squashed, like it should be wider. The concept is good and the background pallete and style is excellent. As a suggestion perhaps some reflection on the cubes would make it look cooler?

On second thoughts that's a poster format isn't it? That'd make a pretty kick ass poster

darkMyke In reply to nukomod [2004-12-01 15:58:07 +0000 UTC]

At first it should have been much higher (actually the whole thing should have been different) but as I wanted to keep the "theme" I had to resize my canvas...I haven't thought about making a poster, I don't think that I'm already good enough to care about such things
