Wow, those flowers are beautiful. And all around the tree like that. Lucky. The leaves (of the flowers) are an interesting shade of green. What are those thin vine-like things coming down on the left?

Very good shot.

Thank you. I like how it came out for the most part. Ha, those are just some type of long grass that was growing in the area around the flowers; I couldn't avoid it due to other reasons. Reminded me of wheat, but that wasn't what it was.

Yeah, it's depressing. Oh well. Today was really nice here though. Blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and slightly warmer than previous days.

Hmm, the last two days have been nice here now. Quite lovely. I helped out at our university "show off" day yesterday for admitted, possible freshman and even got a sunburn.

I'm not sure. They remind me of tulips or dogwoood blossoms. Perhaps they are some kind of tulip.

So beautiful! We still have snow on the ground here. Although less than most years. No flowers until sometime next month. No leaves until May. Still, the sun is higher, the air warmer and still it is nicer to spend time outside with less layers.

Aw, that's no fun. How long does your spring/summer last once it finally starts?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SusanMellen In reply to darkhorse11 [2009-03-26 19:18:20 +0000 UTC]

Snow is usually gone sometime in April. But don't let that fool you, a good snowfall can still happen (rather large actually). The leaves are finally out in May. The leaves start to turn in August, peak is in late September, early October. It starts to cool down in late August, September but still there are some hot days. Snow can be seen in September. Snow on the ground from November/December to March/April. Yeah, short. lol

Wow! That is short. Is this on the east coast? I think you put New Hampshire down on your page. I didn't realize your summers were so short.

Thanks, Alison.

Indeed. I'm glad I won't have to worry about communting in the snow for another year now.

How are you doing? It seems a lot has been happening based on your journals.

ANewCreation In reply to darkhorse11 [2009-03-23 21:59:49 +0000 UTC]

Life is such a complex thing isn't it? So much has happened here as of late....God is good - all the time - even when things change! I am doing fine...although I admit the winter sure got me down this year! I am so grateful for spring and for the opportunity to return to my worship of God through photography! How is school for you? It's tough slugging...I remember well! Hope you are well...

darkhorse11 In reply to ANewCreation [2009-03-23 22:33:31 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I'm on spring break for a week and then it's back to the grind. It's nice to have some respite that's for sure. And spring is here at last. I'm excited. I just wish I knew where I was headed with school. I recently declared my major in chemistry but I really don't know where God will take me with it and it's hard not knowing.

I'm glad you are doing well. I'm sure we'll both get some lovely shots this spring. Have fun.

Yes...the not knowing part is hard...I know exactly what you mean! Having lived a "few" more years than you I will say that I have experienced God's leading many times, and His plans are always better than mine! I have, therefore, learned to trust (sometimes reluctantly) even when the way is unclear. You are honouring Him in your life...and He will lead the way! I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful pictures over the coming months!
