after reading the artist conversation with chiharusmoon the only thing that rings in my head. what medium is this artist using? crayons? oil pastels? I'm just judging it by the texture of the shading. I do think the facial expression is great. the blend of color is good. i can speak from experience in improvising with what materials available. as a sharpie artist there are no skin tone colors offer. I have learned over decades in improvising and experiment that it takes a blend from 4 to 6 colors the make the skin tone life life with my medium. I see the same improvisation done here in this creation. the shading and highlight is great. the only thing I would suggest is work more on the forearms as well. it still bothers me when I see good creation likes this has no background. the background can make this creation more complete creating a strong initial impact that will hold the viewers eye to explore more than just the creation itself. the illustration is still well balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. still it is creative and deserve a job well done praise with words of encouragement to surpass this on the artist next creation. I will be one them that will anxiously waiting to see the next creation and watch for the improvements..overall good job

I enjoyed reading this comment, I actually use prismacolor colored pencils for most of my work, though have dabbled with both of the others in the past. Since I only have a small amount I own, it is hard to get the right skin tone that isn't too peachy orange in color. As for the body, Forearms, shoulder and hands are my weakness. I had been drawing them wrong for so long it became a habit to draw bulky shoulders arms and large unnatural hands. I will be sure to keep working on those as time goes on. As for backgrounds, those are the one thing I tend to struggle with in this media. I will be sure to try a more complex background next time, to help build more balance in the image, instead of my normal simple outline or sparkles.
Thank you very much for the comment, I will be sure to rey and improve in the areas mentioned! I also like your art style and the use of markers. It is very simple yet at the same time has depth.

I actually don't have the right color for skin as the peach I thought would work is too bright, so I have been using a dark brown for the shadows since that is the only one I have that works. Thank you though, I will be sure to do that next time, and try to cover everything.
