weee~ SPOILER WARNING!! ~ which is funny coming from someone who never played the game ^^'...but yeah - spoilers ahead...
This picture ate away at my mind as I attempted to study for my exams last week. Now that they're finally over I FINALLY got to colour it. ^^
Kinda sad that I have a pretty Tales of the Abyss picture when I've never played the game, and I still lack a Tales of Symphonia one...when I adored the game to pieces...one more thing to throw on that to do list. Anyways.........
'tis Luke-Asch at the very end of the game once they've reunited.
I had way too much fun with this pucture - especially the fireflies ^^ - they were fun!!!!
I am soooo proud of this picture - even though I skipped out on the rocks in the background - then again - I couldn't remember what they looked like ^^'

XD wanna know something funny - I drew this one way back before I'd even started playing the game.
The ending is essentially up for interpretation. Asch died, that we know for a fact. But if you watch the last part before Asch and Luke disappear in that burst of light - Asch's hand moves, sort of implying he was somehow revived. However both of them vanish as their fonons completely separate.
My personal thought is that Asch and Luke were both restored to life (and their fonons were essentially '
The other commonly accepted interpretation is that their fonons were combined and they both exist as a single person who has both their consciousness and memories. I don't like this one myself because the game spent it's entire length proving that Luke and Asch were two seperate people, so to turn around and have them end up as one person seems rather counter productive. I have seen a technical argument proving this point but I don't remember what it was. (if you really want to know it though, I can go digging)

Yeah I like your theory best too. I mean Asch had just started to accept Luke and then he dies. That was horrible I cried.
For them to just combine like that, no. I won't accept that they were just splurtched into one. They were resureccted and they were two different beings. Yes. =3
Know what I realized near the end of the game? I realized that If I had read Luke's journal as I went I would have gone in deeper within the plot and feel one with the character, ((not that I didn't already~ XD ))
But there was just too much to read so I decided to just drop it. = w=
No it's alright it would probably be too much trouble either way. =3

Yeah, one of my best friends played it long before I did and she ranted to me about various things (since I was the only one who wasn't in the process of playing it and she didn't want to spoil them. I didn't get it until months later). I saw that scene (knowing nothing of what it meant) and wanted to draw something from that scene. So in reality a good chunk of the game's bigger spoilers (Luke's 'real' identity, the final boss, Asch's unfortunate fate) I knew already (and trust me, knowing Asch is going to die does NOT make it any easier. I avoided Eldrant like the plague. Then when I finally did, I was a nervous wreck after the meaning of Birth scene, cause I didn't know exactly where it would happen. I just about hit the roof at the cutscene with Guy's old house XD)
Well you're welcome. I must admit the scene where Luke comes back to Tataroo Valley is still one of the most emotional ones for me (other than the evil scene of death -seriously I came so close to losing to Sync because I could barely see straight)
I love Luke's journal! It's so amusing, and the way he writes it is epic win~ the game creators must of had a blast writing it.

I'm someone who thinks that they merged into one person .. but just for the purpose of hilarity and fun: Split Personalities. They'd drive each other insane!
And I knew all the spoilers before I started the game, too. I knew Asch would die and I thought it was just after the duel .. and when it happened I was quiet. Finished the game and an hour after that I broke down because of Asch's death. Whenever I see Asch's death or just hear the music to it, I'm a waterfall ..

I knew it happened but didn't know when so every cut scene after the Meaning of Birth scene made me hit the roof because I thought that was it. I was so tense for that whole level.

Ah, dunno if I was tense .. but putting Asch's deathscene before the fight against Sync .. meaning that if you lost, you had to see the entire thing over again! Didn't happen with me, but still ..
And WHY does the video room from Namcot Island not list Asch's Deathscene in it's Animated Movies?

i just beat TotA!!
made me cry..
anyway, in my head i thought Asch lived.. if i'm wrong it means i imagined his hand twitch at the end. them reuniting makes sense though, being the same person and all. do you know if it's for sure that they just molded back to being one person? or can this fanfic writer have hope of writing what Asch was running around (hiding from Natalia) doing while Luke went back to see everyone?

you can have it however you want - the ending is really left up to the interpretation of the player - since nothing about it is actually confirmed. (heck.. it could be Asch pretending to be Luke just to get by everyone... ^^') Outfit is very cool though ^^

I didn't like ToL ...the battle system...drove me nuts >.> and the battles on the world map...it took forever for you to be able to move again (or so it felt like) *was jaded by ToS* ^^'
