I was unsure whether to call this "The High Priestess" or not, but the title above seems better because it reflects a state of stasis. Second Island.Watercolor & fine liner.
Completed 22nd June, 2013.

It's so glow in the dark-ish. I can see so much in this - breasts, faces, claws: all of the things a growing boy thinks of during his private night times.

This work strongly reminds me of Aztec compositions. Very scary in my opinion.
All your works have a fierce and relentless composition which usually caters to an audience... attuned to them. It takes courage to fully immerse one's self into this painting. The reason why I say this is because, frankly, the green overflow, combined with the drawings of creatures on the walls, and the main figurehead with its legs of bamboo and manly crows, the wings, and yet the butterfly attachment with the head... with a blocked path ahead... It would have been nice if you had used various colors, in my opinion. But because its watercolor I feel that it cannot be done now... Green used in excess here... gives it an algal feel... definitely strong for ordinary viewing, in my opinion.

But that's great - thank you!! I was trying for a dank, damp, slimey feeling, with all pathways blocked. I didn't plan this drawing & it made me feel disquieted the whole time that I was drawing it. I wanted it to be mossy, with that sort of slime that grows in the edges of rivers - you know? It's that green slime that you put one foot under & then lift, and it comes up kind of shredding & looping from your foot. Well, I couldn't manage to draw that, but I got as near as I could at this stage. Thank you for your wonderful comment, my dear.

This is phenomenal, it reminds me of some of the wonderful illustrations in the books I had as a kid - very magical. Beautiful.
