Description The morning madness chilled my ribs;
That cavernous fire pit of carbon skin
Wrapped around the arching bones,
Where one coal burns
And the morning mist
Expands
To press its hand into the black.
In between each finger
there's a whisper, saying,
'Good morning.'
And I watch sleepless eyes blink back
The fog of night.
I see the corners of lips smile
Into warm cups of coffee.

I absolutely love this Danya. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces of yours now! It's so ferocious in its gentleness. Makes you lean into the beauty of the senses in a kind of wondrous big way. If that makes any sense at all....

Thanks so much, Braeden. That really means a lot to me.

And it does make sense. It's actually quite interesting to hear your impressions, because I honestly had no idea what this was about until I finished it. When I was done, I realized I had drawn sensory data from memories of early morning moments I have when sleep evades me.

'Ferocious in its gentleness' is very fitting.
