Description
Taking a break from all the large projects that have been consuming my life the past couple of weeks to knock out this little Vanellope for ShiloTMy hand/wrist pain has been slowly creeping up on me again. I swear I'll learn how to take a break and relax one day lol.

Holy crap that looks really good so far ;___; You must have a lot of patience with that hair, I find that working with super dark colors is not always easy. Some colors don't want to blend together well for me lol

Thank you! Dark colors are definitely a pain and never seem to be dark enough, no matter what color combinations I try. That's why I've taken to using ballpoint pen for my darkest areas. It works like a charm and the ink compliments the pencils beautifully
I've also noticed that some of the darker colors (like indigo blue, dark green, and dark purple) have leads that are much harder than some of their lighter counterparts. I think the density or type of pigment they use in the wax to create these colors has an effect on how soft the leads are, which is why they're tougher to blend. So I get around that by layering a billion different colors together and using ballpoint pen to get the desired effect.

do you have a wrist brace? my hand cramps up as well so i have to take a fifteen minute break and put on a wrist brace when i use my colored pencils. it looks amazing :3
