Lets start this year off with a new painting.I've always wanted to draw a grunt/marine in a drop ship in space.
So i wanted some close gritty feeling, as if youre the one staring at him.
You know he's going to fuck shit up

I believe I saw this piece in someone else's gallery a while ago, possibly minus some photomanipulation for the helmet decals and some of the lights.
If you created this by altering someone else's picture, then you should give the person who made the original picture credit and link to their work.

The up close personal connection, and the ramped space of the cabin, the vastness of space, it's all there. Life and death are just a short distance away. You can really sense the tension.

Its funny seeing this style from you after seeing all your other work, It has a more a painted feel to it. Is this closer to the style you will use in the LMS grpahic novel (not the prologue book)than the other pics you have posted lately? Its awsome either way.

To be honest, I think it's just my style changing or hopefully evolving. I've never been a fan of painterly stuff (not that I think its a bad style at ALL) but I'm a sucker for detail and trying to achieve that hyper real look (if possible).
I don't know if I'll illustrate LMS...it'd take too long for books to come out :/ so we'll see...might hire an artist.
