Description This work in the Ranger Base is simply a recreation of the artwork Eagles in Iraq , made by DeviantArt user Panzerfire , which depicts a pair soldiers of the United State Army's 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) "Screaming Eagles" and how they were dressed and equipped in the year 2003 when they first deployed to Iraq during Operation: Iraqi Freedom and in 2016 when they were sent back to assist Iraqi Security Forces in their fight against the Islamic State of Iraq.

The 2003 soldier wears the Desert Combat Uniform (DCU), which is basically a variant of the famous Battle Dress Uniform but modified for arid environments. For protection he is wearing the Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) vest in "M81" U.S. Woodland camouflage pattern and the helmet in DCU pattern. The reason for this odd combination of woodland worn atop of desert clothing was because PASGT vests were mass produced for the most part in the "M81" camouflage, and this lead to a major controversy of American servicemen being easier targets to spot due to the contrast of the woodland pattern in desert environments. Although it has be mentioned that some PASGT vests were made in DCU pattern, but these were somewhat rare and the majority were issued to U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The firearm in his hands is a standard M4A1 carbine with an ACOG scope.

The 2016 soldier is wearing the infamous Army Combat Uniform (ACU), which had its beginning with the also infamous and very controversial Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), but this camouflage was eventually replaced with the "Multicam" pattern developed by Crye Precision in late 2010, and officially designated as Operation Enduring Freedom Pattern (OEF, OEF-CP) when it was issued to U.S. Army soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. For protection he is wearing a MultiCam-patterned Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) and the Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV). The weapon he is carrying is a M4A1 carbine with modular modifications.

UPDATE (9/23/2023): Addition of new Ranger Base bracket and minor adjustments.

UPDATE (12/23/2023): Swapped the IOTV vest for the 2016 version.
