You should make the bodice a litthe tighter then, and it will look gorgeous, but I can notice a shadow where your breast is: a modern corset wouldn't work, you need a very flat corset, suiting the Tudor fasion!

Yeah, I saw a beautiful stay on Etsy from a costumer I love and I was planning to buy one for a perfect look (same thing for other historical costumes I was planning to make).
I definitively have to learn how to sew stays and bones!

I just wanted to note, that if you make any practice stays/corsets and don't want to spend the money on steel just yet, get some of the larger zip ties from stores like Lowes. I get ones that are about 15-18 inches long, and 3/8 of an inch wide. They are very sturdy, a little bendy, but a lot cheaper, which is great for practice.

I like the slashed sleeves very much.

I love it!! You look like a painting come to life, and this is keeping in mind that many portraits were made to be especially flattering.

Beautifully done, especially for a first go! The only thing I can say is that if you weren't intending to wear a period corset, you should have used heavy interfacing and possibly some boning to stiffen the bodice and shoulders to support the weight of the skirt and sleeves. But hey, there's always next time.
Gorgeous gown though, you picked a very flattering look and the colors are perfect together. If you need a pattern for the proper undergarments, Simplicity 2621 will do just the trick!!

Thank you!! To be honest I've to admit there are many details in this dress I've to change in the future. I started sewing last year and I wanted to try something more advanced instead of the classic medieval-fantasy dress I usually do. I have lot of things to learn ^_^
The choice of interfacing could be perfect and I will do it for sure in the next Tudor gown (which will be in velvet or brocade).
Thanks for your tips!!

You're welcome! I'm glad I could lend some help!
It surprised me that you've only been sewing for about a year! Your work looks like you've got tons more experience! I really look forward to seeing more from you; you've got amazing potential ^_^

It might not turn out so badly if you're Anne of Cleves, maybe. If not, don't risk it.
