It's definitly different and there some episodes, that were not that exciting, but all in all I can definitly recommend it to watch and love the show. Furthermore it's also cool to see some old faces from AtLA

well i for sure think you should go for it, 
its one of my favorite shows even after these years, i would definitely recommend. 
-compared to atla, which had 4 seasons facing one villain, this has 1 villain per 1 season
-then theres animation thats improved, there are better soundtracks -in my opinion- and lots of great sceneries through all four seasons - the art side of the show is awesome
-also theres story of a first avatar - with lovely animation - put in 2 episodes 
-character development is also on point 
-the communication between some characters might seem weaker than it was in atla, thats also because theres much more characters plus lots of action and story going on 
-also in comparison with atla this is placed a generation later and the world is becoming more modern - there are sophisticated cities for example
-there's a lots of traveling in the 3rd book which is similar to atla
the show is different from avatar the last airbender, but in my opinion its different good 
it pluses and minuses and its worth watching

liking the thought of advancing civilization, and i appreciate the supreme lack of spoilers. also, im always one for well drawn sceneries. i cant draw them yet, but theyre extremely inspiring for my stories. youve won me over. once i rewatch the last airbender, im starting korra. thanks for the recommendation.
