"Get back here, runt!" Inuyasha yelled playfully.
Shippou stuck his tongue out at the "rampaging" Hanyou, "Gotta catch me
first!" he cried.
Kagome smiled at the duo, giggling as the Hanyou caught the Kitsune and
exacted his revenge, merely shaking her head at Shippou's laughing shrieks of
"Help me Kagome!"
Inuyasha had healed nicely in the past week since the cave in, and their
relationship had improved leaps and bounds.
"It's nice to see him relax a bit isn't it?" Sango asked, breaking Kagome out
of her trance.
"Please! I give up! Mercy!" Shippou laughed out in the distance.
"Who knew dying did that to someone?" Miroku added. Inuyasha had confided his
experience with his father to the monk, and there was no doubt in his mind that
Inuyasha had been on the border between this life and the afterlife.
Everyone looked up to see a snickering Inuyasha carrying a flush-faced
Shippou.
"Keh, food ready yet?" Inuyasha asked, plopping down on the blanket Kagome
had spread.
"I was just about to call you," Kagome answered, nodding and gesturing to the
food.
Inuyasha set the Kitsune on the ground, "Keh, you remember the terms of your
surrender runt."
Shippou grumbled as he fixed a plate and brought it back to Inuyasha, "Thank
you for letting me serve your food, Lord Inuyasha."
Inuyasha ruffled the Kitsune's hair, "Keh, go sit in Kagome's lap."
The group ate in friendly silence.
"We should go visit your family, Kagome," Inuyasha said suddenly.
"Why? You never want to let me go back," Kagome replied, surprised.
"Let's just say you guys weren't the only people that made me dig my way
out," Inuyasha mumbled.
"Oh no! Looks like our Hanyou's gone soft!" Miroku teased.
"Keh, pass the Ramen, Pervert," Inuyasha said, pretending he wasn't
blushing.
