I really like how this look without any shadows. Just couldn't decide with one to pick, so I'm uploading both and let you guys be the judge.

With shading:

In the end I decided to swap out the dragonfly for the koi fish.
To get a slightly better understanding why I did this:

Look at it as an update of this funny looking mini animation I made few years back.

I think your character design is great. I love the carefree feeling that the girl has and the cute little purse cat going after the fish is adorable. When I compare the flat version to the shadowed version, I find that I prefer the shaded version better simply because you have set it up as a rainy sort of day with puddles and that sort of thing. Her hair has more of that wet feeling to it one you've shaded it. I think the koi are a great addition. I don't think dragonflies would have made the same sort of whimsical feeling to the whole piece. The color scheme is beautiful. Thanks for uploading it. Nice job.
