"Ah, I see you, there! Come closer, let me take a look: mmm, are you going to be a lucky adventurer or a delicious tidbit?"First time using a brush liner and though I had some trouble with the width of the lines here and there, I also found it pretty satisfying and versatile: with a normal liner, even the tiniest one, you can't get such thin lines.
I like the oriental look that pops out (at least I think it does), and also the fact that the character is clearly an ambiguous one.
Please note that the original one is pretty small (A5), just so you can appriciate the line work more ^^

Holy shit, this is pretty fucking epic. The look in his face screams evil, but not an evil that could make the universe crumble; the kind of evil which feeds off of the misery of an individual. Not sure if that makes any sense, but anywho, here are a couple of tiny things that you could improve on: First off, the coloring, or lack thereof. I love the background, and it actually goes really well with the black and white of the dragon, but if he was colored, the whole piece would really be bursting with beauty. Like I said, the background and the dragon go well together, so maybe coloring him would've fuck it all up. The other thing is the mane; there's too much of it. For me, at least. It just looks like there's so much to experiment with there, and it kind of irks me. Okay, that's it. thank you very much for the critique! The coloring thing is something I thought about, but as per now, I will not be able to try it. I will surely not go on the original piece, 'cause I am pretty sure it would come out a mess, but making it digitally may be a thing in the future. anyway, my first idea of this piece was for a black and white, and I like the way it ended up being.
yep, lot of fur, I agree, but I wanted it to look like very massive and overwhelming: think of a scene where someone summons this guy, and the air, and flames (of torches, dunno) melt and mix together and he appears. that's it: that's why there is so many hair ^^

I wouldn't color this excellent piece of art.
It would take away from the appreciation many would have for the detail brush work the artist has committed to this wonderful illustration.
I still find myself enjoying the wild, sinister expression this beast seems to be emoting.

aah! thank you for pointing it because, yes, it was a real struggle because of the dimension ^^ but at work I cannot do pieces bigger than an A4, and A5s are easier to manage on a already-full-of-stuff desk XD

yep. I love small paper, 'cause I love to see what I can do in such little space. Or maybe deep inside I am afraid of bigger pieces? who knows? XD I did some bigger works on different supports, but in the end paper is my favorite and it being smaller than an A4 is the best for me ^^
