Description Zac and his genie-in-training Kaz were driving down in Zac's toy car to the community rec center in town. They were looking to see what kind of classes and activities were available at the start of the season.
"I tell you, Kaz, you are gonna love the rec center. They have so many kinds of activities for us to sign up for," said Zac.
"I have been more intrigued in seeing your human world and your customs, so count me in," said Kaz.
As they arrived at the center, they saw the packs of people at different booths signing up for various activities.
"Boy, there sure are a lot of them," said Kaz.
"It's so hard to choose, but I'm sure we'll find the one we're looking for if we look around," said Zac.
"Can that really work?"
"Sure. We can get a few good ideas checking out. And once we find one we like, we sign up for it."
"If that's how it goes, I'll try it."
With that, they began to look around.

Some of the classes and activities were already taken or just had too long a line for them to wait in.
"Perhaps this isn't as easy as we thought it would be," said Kaz.
"Well, maybe we'll get lucky. Like this one time when I found a four-leaf clover in the park. It's been my lucky charm ever since," said Zac.
He had his clover out and as luck would have it, they found a booth that was vacant. It was run by Michael Burdino. He seemed to pop up everywhere in these stories.
That looks like a good one," said Kaz.
"Let's go over before it gets too crowded!" said Zac.
They headed on over when a big chunky boy got in front of them.
"Hey! We were first!" Kaz protested.
The boy turned around.
"What of it?" he asked.
"Uh...never mind," said Kaz.
The chunky kid signed up and walked away.
"I saw that," said a girl's voice. This girl was about Zac and Kaz's height, if only an inch taller. She was also their age.
"You saw that big kid cut in front of us?" Zac asked.
"Yeah. That was rude," said the girl.
"He has no manners. But he does have an intinidating physique," said Kaz.
"Are you gonna sign up or chat all day? I'm not exactly gonna be here forever," Michael told them.
"Oh, sorry," Kaz apologized.
The kids signed up.
"By the way, my name's Kelly," said the girl.
"I'm Zac. And this is my friend, Kaz," Zac introduced themselves.
"Uh...hi," said a shy Kaz.
"You seem nice. Are you into extreme sports, too?" the girl asked.
"Extreme sports?" Kaz asked.
"That's what I'm running this class on," said Michael.

Zac, Kaz, Kelly and that chunky boy were all in uniform for Michael's extreme class.
"Welcome to my extreme sports rec class! You four are the bravest kids I know because you had the guts and gumption to sign up. I like that," said Michael.
"I've been eager to try something like this! Something wild and free!" said Kelly.
"Yeah, good luck with that, girly," said the chunky boy.
"Lay off her, man!" said Zac.
"Lay off who?" the chunky kid asked.
"Moe, that's enough," said Michael.
"So, your name's Moe..." Kaz muttered.
"What of it?" Moe responded.
"Now then, these sports are not gonna be easy, but you know the old saying: no pain, no gain. So, show no fear and give it your best shot. Have a good time!" Michael instructed.

The first extreme sport they were gonna do is skateboarding.
"Now, skateboarding in and of itself is already a pretty extreme sport. But we have taken it up a notch and added dangerous pitfalls that are 50 ft deep all over the skating rink. You don't wanna fall in, do you?" Michael explained.
"Pitfalls?" Kaz gulped.
"Aw, get out there, you little wimp," said Moe.
He shoved Kaz down the ramp.
"Hey, what'd you do that for?" Kelly criticized.
Kaz was veering out of control on his board, but while doing so, he somehow managed to pull off all sorts of tricks while having no control of his board.
"This kid is good," complimented Michael.
"What the heck?" Moe asked confused.
Kaz managed to avoid all the pitfalls while Moe fell into one. Kaz dismounted perfectly and came to a stop.
"Is it over?" he asked.
"Yeah. And it was rad!" said Zac.
"You did good, Kaz," said Kelly.
"I did?" Kaz wondered.

Next, they were all gonna bungee jump off the tallest skyscraper in town. It was 64 floors high up and they were all eager. Well, Kaz was a little nervous about this.
"Bungee jumping is a classic sport that takes things to the max. And for this, we're going up super high and dropping down 64 stories. You'll experience the velocity you wish you could achieve daily before stopping right before you hit the pavement," said Michael.
"I was born ready for this," said Kelly.
She leaped off with the wind blowing back her hair and, in cartoon fashion, her cheeks. Moe secretly unhinged Kaz's cord and when it was his turn, Kaz was falling so fast, he couldn't stop. He was gonna become a pancake on the pavement.
"Oh no! Unless I use my powers, I'm doomed!" he panicked.
But he didn't hit the pavement. In fact, he bungeed back up thanks to his cord catching the flagpole on the side of the building. It pulled him up before he had succumbed to his doom.
"Oh, that was too close," he gasped, still trying to catch his breath.
"Are you okay, Kaz?" Kelly asked.
"Never better..." Kaz panted.

Next up, the kids were playing Baseball.
"I don't see what's so dangerously extreme about baseball," said Kaz.
"Ah, Baseball. Our country's pastime. And quite popular in Japan, too," said Michael. "And for this, we have a nice twist on the old ball game. You will be hitting balls shot out by this contraption."
There was a very powerful baseball pitching machine.
"This is the Turbo Tosser. Capable of shooting out 100 baseballs in a minute. And the base lines are coated in hot coals to give you that motivation to run," said Michael.
"You were saying, runt?" Moe asked.
The genie-in-training was already failing nervous. The kids took a swing, but the Turbo Tosser was really firing away like crazy. They got hit by a few fastballs.
"Wow! Those are the fastest fastballs I've ever seen!" said Zac.
He hit one and ran the coal lines almost burning off the sole of his shoes. Kelly ran like crazy. Moe charged through. Kaz flailed about.
"Anyone got any ice?" he asked, needing to cool his feet off.

Next up, they were doing some synchronized swimming.
"Synchronized swimming demands synchronization, meaning you must do your moves all at the same time. It can be difficult to master the timing, but you'll get the hang of it," Michael explained.
"Now this doesn't sound so bad," said Kaz.
"But let's say this pool became a stormy wave on the ocean. Can you do it then?" Michael asked.
The pool started generating waves and knocking the kids about.
"These waves are insane!" said Zac.
"I think I'm going under!" Kelly gasped.
Kaz pulled her up and they started swimming in sync with one another. The waves were strong, but not strong enough to break their sync up.
"And we survived that one, too," said Kaz.
"Okay, everyone out of the pool," said Michael.

After drying off, the kids were over at a mountain range driving motorbikes down a dirt path.
"Explain to me again why we are riding on these motorized bicycles while avoiding some rather hazardous...hazards," Kaz requested, still confused on their sport.
"To keep you cautious on what lies ahead on the road. Oil slicks, spike strips, land mines, that sort of thing," said Michael.
"Land mines?" Kaz questioned.
Moe tried to ram Zac and Kaz off the road, but they dodged him and he hit a land mine, sending him flying into a nearby shrub. And he was not brutally injured from it. Kelly finished the course first.
"All that time practicing on my uncle's ranch really paid off," she said.
It seemed she had a past experience on this sort of sport.

Next, they were all performing a pole vault.
"Like in the Olympics, you can pole vault over any high incline as long as you time your pole right. But can you also vault over a pit of dangerous man-eating alligators?" Michael explained.
"Alligators?!" Kaz gasped.
Zac went first and landed over the pit and onto the mat.
"Perfectly fine," said Michael.
Kelly was next and did the same. Kaz came up and shook a little.
"Already feeling weak, huh, fluffy?" Moe asked.
Kaz didn't let Moe's get the better of him. He vaulted over nice and safe. If he had missed, surely he would have used his genie powers to escape, but he didn't want to take that chance.
"I made it!" Kaz cheered.
"Yeah, well, watch this," said Moe.
He tried to make it over, but he hit the bar and launched himself into the gator pit. They tried to eat him, but he knocked them out.
"Take this, you walking handbags! Go back to Florida!" he told them.
"The zoo is not gonna be happy about that," said Michael.

Next up, they were all playing Soccer. The thing is, the field was riddled with all sorts of different terrain. There was rock, ice, water, steel, sand, and some other substances.
"A soccer field with all sorts of different terrains?" Kelly pondered.
"It's not the most extreme thing there, but it was the bst I could think of for this sport," said Michael.
Kelly got the ball and kicked it right into the net that Moe was blocking. It was kicked so hard, it hit him in the gut.
"I have been meaning to do that all day," said Kelly.
"Wow," Kaz gushed. That girl was something.

Next up, there was a little boxing.
"Now, boxing is fighting backed by technique. It's a real fisticuff throwdown between two punching powerhouses. They say violence is not the answer, but someday, you'll have to defend yourself, and let your fists do the talking," explained Michael.
"What's so extreme here?" Zac asked.
"The ring is electrified!" Michael answered.
Instead of turnbuckles, the ropes were held up by for lightning rods. They would go off and electrify the ropes.
"Are you insane?!" questioned Kaz.
"I think he might be," Kelly figured.
"Now, step into the ring and show me what you got!" said Michael.
The first match was Zac VS Kelly. Kelly moved pretty quickly and knocked Zac down, Rocky Balboa style. But Zac wasn't bruised and battered. Just a little winded. Next was Kaz VS Moe. And Kaz was a little scared of facing Moe. All he could do was block.
"Come on, you wuss! You won't be beating me if you just sit there covering yourself!" said Moe.
Kaz ran out of the ring in a forfeit.
"What a chicken," said Moe.
"Excuse me for a moment," said Kelly.
In her fight with Moe, she gave him the ol' 1-2-3-4 and gave him a real beating. So much so, he got sent right into the ropes and shocked by the lightning rods.
"I'm really starting to like Kelly," said Kaz.
Maybe more so than he thought.

Next was Ice Hockey. This game was taken all the way to the Winter Forest, a place so cold, it could never melt even on the hottest of summer days. They were playing on thin ice. It was cracking a bit.
"Hockey is a real tradition of Canada, but they know better than to play on thin ice. But we don't," said Michael.
"Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Burdino," Kaz sighed.
He didn't want to slip. He shot the puck to Kelly who was going toward Zac. She smacked the puck right into the net and scored a goal for her and Kaz.
"Oh, way to go, Zac! That girl made a monkey out of us again!" Moe complained.
"I can't help it if she's that good," said Zac.
"Oh yeah?" Moe questioned. "Well, help this!"
He was about to punch him when the ice underneath them broke, making them pretty cold and shivery.

After Zac and Moe's warm up, they were all playing a little Basketball. But this variation of it had a bunch of springs all over the court. Like the ones you see when playing a Sonic the Hedgehog game.
"This is a bit too wild!" said Kaz.
"But it's so fun!" said Zac.
They sprung about when Moe slam dunked really hard.
"Get a load of this shot!" said Kelly.
She tossed the ball, but it barely hit the rim. Kaz grabbed it and bounced it back.
"Nice shot, Kaz!" said Kelly.
"Thanks, Kelly," said Kaz.
He then started springing out of control like a pinball hitting one too many bumpers. He was starting to feel a little nauseous from that.

Next up was rollerblading, but this was no ordinary rollerblading. They were all wearing the rocket powered jet rollerblades like you see in cartoons. They were fast, but dang, were they hard to control. Especially for Kaz. Even Kelly had a bit of trouble with this one. Kaz was launching all over the place and catapulted right into the air and into a tree nearby. He stopped as his jets gave out.
"Not even Zane goes that fast," Kaz commented, referring to his pet Ziffilon.
"You okay, Kaz?" Zac asked.
"That was some crash you took," Kelly added.
"I don't know," said Kaz.
He then fell out of the tree.
"Okay, now I'm not," he mumbled.

After washing up, the kids were on the last of their class's sports.
"You've all done well up to this point. But now, it's time. I saved the best for last. Prepare yourselves," said Michael.
He then escorted them to the final sport. There was a giant obstacle course that was loaded with crazy obstacles.
"I present to you the ultimate obstacle course! Included are a catapult rocket start, a slime shooting cannon for slippery flooring, a gang plank over a vat of hot sauce, a rotating platform at high velocity, a plethora swinging pendulums that will try to knock you off, a slalom of spiked columns, a Thwomp Trap, a section where you will be chased by a giant rubber ball, a mountain climbing section, and finally, just before the finish line, an ornery dragon. The first one to reach the finish line wins," Michael explained.
Kaz looked on in horror at all the obstacles that lied ahead of them.
"No way! I'm out! I do not want to do this anymore!" he panicked.
"Are you sure, Kaz?" Michael questioned.
"Maybe it's too much for the little runt," said Moe.
"Leave me alone, Moe!" said Kaz.
He then stormed off.
"Kaz?" Kelly gasped slightly.

Kaz was really upset. His master and his new friend came up to him.
"Kaz, is everything alright, buddy?" Zac asked.
"No, Zac," Kaz answered, "everything is not alright. I regret ever signing up for this stupid class."
"But Kaz, you were scared before on some of the other sports, but you still managed to hold your own and survive up to this point. Heck, I thought I would be the only one to make it all the way, but you really proved me wrong, and in a good way, too," said Kelly.
"You mean it, Kelly?" Kaz asked.
"Totally. Heck, if you can just ignore MOe and his taunting, you can probably finish the course," said Kelly. "Maybe win it."
"Yeah. And I wanna run it, but not without my best friend," said Zac. "If you won't run it, neither will I."
Kaz knew he had such great friends with him.
"Okay, I'll do it! I'll run the course!" he said.
"That's what I wanna hear!" said Kelly.

And so, Kaz returned to the obstacle course.
"Mr. Burdino, I change my mind! I want to run the course after all!" said Kaz.
"Very well then. Students, take your positions!" said Michael.
They took them as instructed.
"On your marks...get set...GOOOOOOOO!!!!"
And with that, the students were off. The first obstacle, the catapult rocket start, launched them off to the main part of the course. There, they ran through the slime shooters that fired slime like mega cannons. They were getting gunged, but they were not giving up. It was slippery, but they kept their balance and pushed through. Next was the gang plank. The hot sauce below was burning away the scaffolding and they hopped over to the next area before the crumbled. There was the fast rotating platform. It was fast, and they were getting dizzy, but Kaz and Kelly made it fine. Moe, on the other hand, stopped the wheel himself and got Zac to lose his balance and fall off.
"And Zac is out of the course!" said Michael.
"Oh no! Zac!" Kaz gasped.
"Keep going, Kaz!" said Zac.
His genie continued onward. Onward to the pendulums. A few smacked him and Kelly, but they weren't gonna falter. The pendulums that smacked Moe didn't even faze him given his chunky status. Then came the spike column slalom.
"Halfway there. Don't stop now," said Kelly.
"Not stopping for anything," said Kaz.
They carefully got through the slalom without getting poked once. Next was the Thwomp Trap. Thwomps had a timing for when they fell down to crush their prey. The students got past it just as it was about to fall on them. Next was the ball chase. Giant rubber balls came rolling and bouncing toward the other contestants. They seemed to be doing fine outrunning them, but Moe had another bright idea. He tripped Kelly over and made her fall down. She tried to get back up, but she was too late. The ball chasing her caught up to her, rolled over her, and flattened her.
"KELLY!!!" Kaz gasped.
The ball blocked her way, making it impossible for her to continue.
"And Kelly is out, too! That just leaves Kaz and Moe!" said Michael.
"You can do it, Kaz! I believe in you!" said Kelly.
"Right," said Kaz.

With it just being the last two students, they made it to the penultimate obstacle: the mountain wall. They climbed up without hesitation. Moe tried to knock Kaz down, but the genie-in-training wasn't gonna fall so easily. He was confident in himself and his abilities. And he was doing it for his friends.
"Why don't you just give up already?" Moe suggested.
He got up to the top of the wall and made it to the final obstacle: the dragon.
"Okay, you oversize iguana, let me through. I got a course to finish," said Moe.
But the dragon breathed fire at his hair and swung its tail at him, knocking him aside.
"That is the crankiest lizard I have ever met," said Moe.
Kaz got up to the wall and saw the dragon.
"Michael said it was ornery. Something must be causing it," he pondered.
He saw the dragon had a splinter in its tail.
"That's it!" he exclaimed.
He walked up to the dragon and said,
"It's okay, dragon. I won't hurt you. I'm here to help."
He pulled the splinter out of the dragon's tail, and it was feeling so relieved and happy. It thanked Kaz graciously for that.
"You're welcome," said Kaz.
"And thank you for letting me win!" said Moe.
This gave him the chance to sneak by. But the dragon didn't like that and blocked Moe's path with its tail.
"Oh, come on!" Moe complained.
The dragon let Kaz pass and cross the finish line first, and that's just what the genie did.
"I did it! I won!" he cheered.
"And that's it! Kaz has won the obstacle course challenge!" Michael announced.
Kelly and Zac cheered for him, but Moe was less than enthusiastic.

It was time now for the award ceremony. The students each got an award for their performance in the class. Kaz got the award for "Most Honorable Player".
"Kaz, you have shown the most honor and sportsmanship throughout my class. And for that, I congratulate you with this award," said Michael.
"Thank you, Mr. Burdino," thanked Kaz.
"Oh, please, call me Michael," Michael insisted.
Kelly got the award for "Most Athletic and Determined Player", and Zac got the award for "Most Fun-Having Player".
"This is definitely going on my wall in my room," said Zac.
"Wait till Mom and Dad see this," said Kelly.
But as for Moe, his award was a dunce cap for being the most rotten player in the class.
"I knew joining this class was a bad idea," he moped.
"Bye, Michael!" said the other students.
"Goodbye, and good luck out there!" said Michael.
And thus, the class was over.

On the way home, the other students were admiring their awards.
"That was a hoot!" said Zac.
"I was most pleased with my results," said Kaz.
"I got to meet two awesome new friends in all the excitement," said Kelly.
Kaz then looked at Kelly and said,
"Kelly, you really helped me out a lot with that funk I got in about the obstacle course."
"Hey, you're a cool guy. I didn't want you to miss out on it and lose your confidence," Kelly replied.
"For that, I just...well...there's no way to say it. Actions speak louder than words, so..." Kaz tried to say.
Instead, he grabbed Kelly's shoulders and kissed her right on the lips. This was a surprise. But Kelly really liked it.
"Way to go, Kaz!" Zac cheered.
The kiss was broken and Kelly said,
"Wow! I didn't see that coming!"
"I guess after that, I felt a specail something down here," Kaz answered.
"That's so sweet and cool," said Kelly.
The two of them hugged there. Zac decided to leae the two be.
"Looks like my genie pal found the one for him," said Zac. "It happens. Happens a lot."
Kaz and Kelly held hands.
"So, you wanna sign up for another rec center activity?" Kelly suggested.
"As long as it's not extreme," Kaz requested.
"No problem," said Kelly.
They hugged again, showing that this was the best part of the class they took. They were good sports, good friends, and good partners. This was the start of a winning and magical relationship.
