Description Lately I have been really interested in procedural materials 'cause I still don't fully understand how the maps work and affect each other when creating a bump or a diffuse from a scratch in 3dsMax, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Here these stones are created with displacement & bump together with a texture from CG-Textures. Nothing really complicated. I did fallow a tutorial for modelling so not taking that much credit there. It made a nice BG for me so I thought I could as well share it.

Rendered with V-ray. Post in PS.

Nice, looks very natural. How did you make the mesh for the objects?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dancuka In reply to Dontburnit [2011-07-10 19:17:31 +0000 UTC]

The mesh is just a cube with sperify, turbosmooth and a lot of displacement & noise. You can find the tutorial I followed here: [link]

This kind of material is really great because you can create different duplicates with just changing the attributes of the maps used.
