Yep, Lesley's Harrison work, as it's written. I treated it as an exercise. Now I'm not so proud of it, I think I'll move it to scraps or remove from gallery.

I love horses , of course , who don't , and I also paint at my free time , but never , never my paintings is such great as this .
When I saw this picture , it was , I don't know , somethnig in my heart made me think "Come on , you can paint once again " , havent painted anything for more then 6 months ...

I recognize this from one of Leslie Harrisons paintings. Did you use her painting as ref or use the same ref as she did?
You've done a nice version of it but you'd have to be careful about showing it or selling it etc...

Hello again.
Was the picture a painting or was it a photo that you found?
I know that Leslie Harrison painted this and it is called, "Tempest", or something to that effect.
You can view it in her site here....
[link]
It's near the bottom. All of her stuff is copyright so you'd just have to be careful showing your version around. If you haven't seen her work before, you'll probably enjoy looking through her galleries anyway, she's great.
I see loads of copied stuff here in DA so I don't think that having yours up in here will be a big issue.
If you were to post Leslie's version and then pass it off as your own, then that would be totally different.
I know all this stuff was a big smack in the mouth for me when I found out, realising that I couldn't just copy from photos I found because it infringes copyright and all that.
I realised that I'd have to take all my own refs and partly rely on places like the wetcanvas image library where artists post photos specifically for other artists to use as refs...copyright free.
It's sad that I don't have access to the type of creatures I like to paint most so I am limited as to what other people post for the likes of me to use in the image library and there is an equine resource club here in DA too which I find useful.
If you want to use photos you find on the net as refs, try to make your painting look as different as possible so that it cannot be recognized as from the original ref photo. Otherwise, you can copy any photo as practise but the law states you can't show it to the public, in a website, to promote yourself, sell it or make prints off it. Quite useless really for a full finished painting.
I don't think you'll have to remove your fave piece from DA but knowing how dangerously ignorant I used to be on the subject, I feel it's important for all us artists to be aware of the copyright stuff. I have heard of other artists get their copied work seen by the original artist who then contacted them demanding they remove the work from their site etc....otherwise they would take action against them.
Hope this helps you, I didn't mean to offend or confuse you.
