Description
When Hux finds the unconscious Kylo, Rey is gone.
But we don’t get to see her. She just took Snoke’s Shuttle and went off.
It’s so weird, that this scene is not in the movie… Whatever happened to Rey after the force explosion, if she was also shortly unconcious or stayed awake - Kylo was lying there. Helpless. She could have taken the handcuffs and kidnap him, or kill him, or kill him and the rest of the First Order high ranking officers. ( Just as an extreme example)
But besides this logical approach, imagine her seeing him lying there, his lightsaber next to him. This guy she started to have a thing for, but he betrayed here. Both of them expected to turn the other, but they couldn’t. He is the big bad now. Why doesn’t she kill him? Is she struggling with the decision?
Maybe she sees the elevator coming up and needs to make a quick decision, she wipes away a last tear, maybe gently touches his shoulder and hates herself for not being strong enough to end it right here and there.
And then in a state of panic, sadness and utter disapointment she runs away.
So… I needed this scene for closure, so I just drew it myself. Haha.

Perhaps she’ll try to turn Ben back one last time in Episode IX, because Ben is Leia and Han's son, and if Rey senses his future if being good again, she’ll do whatever it takes to turn him back.

I hope she does something suprising no one anticipates. I'd be fine with her dying and by this redeeming Ben. But I dunno... for some reason I really want her to die, even though I love Rey.

Mh... Good question. I could see them living. A dark ending for the Trilogy would mean a few should survive to keep the fight going.

I wouldn’t expect or want a dark ending for Star Wars. Sure, the prequel trilogy had a dark ending, but that was because it told the story of how the Empire was created and how the events of the original trilogy were set to take place. I honestly, though, think the best way to find out is to just wait until Episode IX comes out.

I guess until 9 or the novelization we can't say for sure. I don't rly ship them, but if the novelization would say they have feelings for each other I could understand it.

Yeah, I'm really curious what Rey thought and felt when she woke and saw him unconscious, and why she left the way she did. Something to think about, maybe write fan fiction about to fill in the gap.

I think maybe a part of Rey realized that despite Snoke's claims, there WAS still something more to Kylo? If Snoke was dead, then any influence his aura would have had in the moment on Kylo's would also be gone.

I think assassinating someone in their sleep is not the Jedi way and Rey realised this. This should mirror the scene where Luke thinks about killing Ben in his sleep.

That would certainly be a good parallel.
As it turned out, I had an inadvertent parallel between something in my universe (Another Set of Eyes) and THAT scene. Something that made a scene I wrote carry a hell of a lot more emotional resonance.
And yeah, even with all of my nasty comments about what the Jedi way is, I would certainly say that murdering someone in their sleep is NOT honorable combat.
