Well I've not made time to watch Downton Abbey so any beauty there is unknown to me. But then...I saw something very different in Sherlock to what a lot of other people did so maybe even if I did watch Downton Abbey I still wouldn't get it.

I find myself gawking at your Sherlock because it looks just like him...but in your style. I don't know how you would do something like that. I don't know how you manage to recreate these British actors. I can't draw Matt Smith and I KNOW I couldn't draw Sherlock...but you make them your bitch.

i'm not sure downton would be your cuppa anyway XD it's like... pride and prejudice but moreso, and half the drama is about the servants. i don't think anyone would've expected i watch it. certainly took me by surprise

now i'm actually really curious what you "saw" in sherlock. it's actually been a while since i've watched the actual episodes because megaupload, so i've been very saturated with tumblr-fandom perspectives and occasionally wonder just how far they're stretching from the source material XD it'd be nice to hear a fresh take that's not tainted by "well clearly everyone is doing everyone else"

thank you! i've been practicing :3 i'm already seeing things to tweak/remember for next time, but i am also pretty pleased with how far it's come.

Yeah that's what I kinda figured. If I walk into a room and some Jane Eyre is on the tv I usually turn around and leave. It was funny when Downton Abbey was starting here because they got these football players to go on the ads and talk about how much they like it. But instead of getting the male demographic to watch it I think it just made those football players look fruity. But outside of football players it wouldn't surprise me if someone watched it. It's made to be watched. Even though I haven't seen it it seems to be similar to Upstairs Downstairs...but I haven't seen that either so who knows.

Well what I saw wasn't much. I saw a guy that started working with a ridiculously smart guy and together they solved crimes. That's about it. When I started seeing some of the scenarios people were coming up with I went and rewatched the first series again to see if I'd missed some of the subtext these others were picking up on. But...nope. Still didn't see it. ALTHOUGH!...I will admit to seeing that Sherlock is lonely and would like a friend. But that's about it. Maybe I'm just not perceptive enough. I need to see a porn parody before I go "Ooooooooooooooooh. They want to do each other."

the best part of that story is that my mind was in amurikka-mode so i was picturing these giant manly american-football players with their shoulderpads and undereye warpaint, giggling about downton abbey

oh, that. right ;D

No. This was an Australian football player...so it was a metrosexual douchebag, smiling nervously about what doing that promo was going to do for his reputation in the locker room.

Keeping up with the other comments, love the work, but I don't know downtown abbey. I've heard about it from here and there though

thanks man

i do think you'd like DA though. it's a british period drama/soap opera with like a zillion little interwoven stories mostly about romance. not my usual MO but it's weirdly addictive to me. also, maggie smith

I obviously can't comment on the beauty of this crossover, as I don't know "Downton Abbey." But, I can comment on how much I like the way you draw Victorian clothing!
