there was a journal request for "batman"
my life would be so much easier and on schedule if i could just draw some nice simple standing poses. but nooooOOOOoooo, i have to try to get all "interesting". and then i end up with whole scenes and vertical comics and sketch-dumps and colored pictures, instead of a month of single sketches. grife.
i had hoped that color on this would make it make more sense, but robin's face is still "what??" oTL so if you're wondering, he's supposed to be wearing a big cloth gag that has a joker smile painted on :\
whenever i watch the 90s batman animated series, there's at least one moment per episode where i think the line "fck you, i'm batman!" could be inserted. whenever he pulls a miraculous save out of his ass while outwitted/outgunned/cornered, y'know?

tim is more than capable of taking care of himself; for me to put him in this situation is almost sacrilege. but i've been playing a lot of lego batman while busy not drawing things, and in that he's a bit of a dink XD

i'd LOVE to see a villain go on a nice long monologue about all the reasons batman is screwed at that moment. and when they finish, there's a short pause, then "fuck you, i'm BATMAN," a kick to the face, and an unfeasible escape

naw man, you're right. i always spend a lot of time on faces but here it was like oh hmm i guess they're not doing much facially are they. NOW WHAT? .A. also bats is a bit more... adult-sized than my usual MO 
a lot of forces came together beautifully to make me all comic-hungry again recently 
tim's ninja shoes confuse me, actually... they look like they'd be uncomfortable. and cause some tangling when kicking or rope-walking. but what do i know XD they look cool and they're all-tim so wuteva wuteva, i do wut i wawnt.
i figure a double-ended batrope might come in handy
the thing about standing poses is they're used to demonstrate your prowess in clothing design or anatomy or likenesses. i'm not really here for that so i distract with antics and dialogue. lots of dialogue XD even this picture has "HA HA HA" all over it

Ah so that's what it is. I played Lego Batman once with my little cousins at their house. It is kind of fun, I played Robin. XD I just figured it was Robin in general, I never thought it was a specific one.

BTW, I was in the hospital gift shop today. My mom was having a spinal tap. I came across what I thought was a Batman DVD. It was like a lil kids coloring book. And it had *TIM* in costume on the back. And on the front of another one next to Batman. I've never seen him on anything like that. And he was wearing the red suit.

one of the unlockable characters is "bruce wayne." he wears a suit and swings a briefcase XD on "free play" mode, you can go through the levels as any character you want, and since you always have a partner, theoretically one of you could be bruce while the other is bats XDD
i hope everything went okay for her. but i've seen tim on merch before, mostly coloring books actually XD because that way they can also have nightwing pages without giving up robin ones

I heard Spoiler is unlocable and (I think) Azrael is too. I wonder what that'd be like? Bruce and Bats fighting together? Isnt Hush in the game as well?
She's all right she didnt like the spinal tap too much. She has a low pain threshhold to begin with.
I've never seen Tim outside of the 90s show or comics or maybe even the odd video game like something from the turn of the century. But that's kind of cool that Tim's finally being acknowledged in merchindice as well. I wonder if kids wehn they're coloring and they see Nightwing and wonder who the hell he is?

it's actually really funny to watch 
well, both the 90s batman cartoon and the TT cartoon have nightwing as a character, so i'd say it's somewhat likely that kids who like batman and/or robin enough to demand a coloring book of them would know who he is. but if they don't watch the cartoons... maybe not so much
