Tessa learns more about Godzilla's smaller, leaner counterpart, Zilla.

Shortly after Godzilla defeated Zilla in New York, Niko Tatopoulos formed a research team called HEAT, and it also consists of Monique Dupre, Randy Hernandez, Mendel Craven, Elsie Chapman, and their special robot assistant, NIGEL. They find the young surviving Zilla and raise it in secret as a means of studying it. However, after the military attacked it, Zilla Jr. disappeared. They tracked him to Jamaica, where they are also attacked by Oodako octopi. However, the giant octopus is prey itself for a larger creature that appears.

Reporters Audrey Timmonds and Victor "Animal" Palotti have joined HEAT to record the event. The newly named Crustaceous Rex rampages until Zilla fights and destroys the bizarre Kaiju. It then moves further north, with HEAT in pursuit. After learning of Zilla's return, G-Force is sent to capture it...
