It's always interesting coming back to your art after a while neglecting my inbox, because seeing it in batches I tend to see a sort of evolution of style. Like, the most recent ones I'm seeing a lot of blacks and reds. This is by far my favourite, though. So much love for the colours! It feels somewhere between gothic & Asian, I'm not sure why. The pose and the sweeping details feel very anime, & the flowers/colours quite Chinese... and maybe it's the costume and the black that makes it seem gothic? Or the red against her pale skin? Really, really nice, anyway. I like the curve of the hat – seems a silly thing to comment on but I feel like it makes the picture, haha – because it comes all the way to the edge of the frame it's like a division between what she's seeing (looking down/being introspective?) and the world around her.
