Back when Avos was still coming out, I liked making up personalities for the background characters in each book, and I've always imagined her as an energenic warrior. I'm glad she's become a character in the actual books now, and even though I wouldn't have chosen the gossipy aunt personality its nice to see her gain some relevance.
