The royal sisters making an eclipse happen. I don't even know whether that's possible with Equestria's wonky astrophysics, but awesome eclipses need no justification.So, why does Luna appear in her Nightmare Moon form? For one, because I think she looks cooler that way. Also because in her normal form she'd be too small to balance the composition. (What's up with that? She's over 1000 years old and still hasn't reached the full grown size of her sister?)
