www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPazGV…Maybe a new character? I have no idea. I just really like piebald deer and thought maybe I'd make one for myself. If I decide to keep her I think I'll call her Sophie. This is actually inspired by the work of , who draws the loveliest deer. If you like deer and aren't already watching her I highly recommend you wander through her gallery.
So jah. I like this piece. :>
I'm out of town for the week but I've got a couple of pieces saved to my computer so uploads shall continueeee.

I only just heard that song for the first time last weekend, (this piece was made like two weeks ago though) and it really stuck with me. It's so good!

My family's a Cat Steven's fan so I grew up listening to his songs, him and Nirvana which is kind of a dramatic change of taste Hahaha! Sophie is such a great name too! I think it really suits her <3 coincidentally, I actually have a character named Sophia with a deer form xD

Oh is the link not working? :u It's just a link to a Cat Stevens song by the same name, Moonshadow. I actually made this piece like a week before I heard the song for the first time but after I heard it I thought they went together nicely. :>
Deer are super weird but I enjoy dealing with weird anatomy. C'x (So long as it isn't human haha.)

It's really funny cause I visited her page a few days ago and decided it was time I created some sort of ungulate character! I should just follow her since I visit her page so much.

I follow so many people it's hard to keep them all straight. I think I've passed the 500 mark recently which seems like a lot. But yeah sighthoundlady's got great style and her designs are quite unique.

I can never keep track of that many people, I always seem to get pretty overwhelmed with it oddly. Like on tumblr, I can't even imagine following over 500 people on there *^*' I love the elegance in her work and designs, also color choices!
She's simple yet still beautiful! It's always a little hard doing that, so kudos for you! Every time it happens to me I feel like I struck gold haha.

Oh yeah tumblr is a mess though. I probably follow twenty people there but I hardly go there even every other week. Here it's easier because everything is here waiting for you in order even if you take weeks off. :b I just like to see something new every time I log on haha.

I follow 30ish or more, mostly artists and animation blogs though since many people left here to go there :/ I like that about deviant art, it's less frustrating but I can still be overwhelmed (especially following groups, that is difficult.)

Deer are such interesting creatures to draw, I really should draw them more myself. The anatomy on this guy is lovely. I really like the soft shading you have, gives your work a nice painted look. Do you ink or just use thin pencil lines?

They really are very unique; you should give them a try! I've always felt a connection with deer growing up surrounded by them in the hill country.
I do all my lineart in pencil; I just can't get the same look digitally or with ink. :>

Oh, I have drawn them, just not very much. But I should definitely change that! Yeah, I see them a lot were I live, on the side of the roads or in the yard sometimes, looking for food.

Cleaning sketches takes forever but I think it's worth the trouble. :b it gets tedious sometimes but I think it saves me time in the long run. Glad you like them. ^u^
